It’s good to be a car weirdo. All the “normal” people must be weird in another way, which has to be worse!
I’ve been there with the birdshit thing. How’s this for depth and impact?
Got a little bit more done. From:

Got these on:
I forgot- headlights are fresh!
the picture flatters it, but not bad. I love cups. It does need the Turinis in bright silver though. And the door shut,
Say goodbye to the very special 1.2 Clio alloys and the very very special “three-a” tyres. Who does that to a car like a 172 cup? Absolute madness.
Eibach springs fitted, at least at the back. Hard to tell at the front
Absolutely shagged sills. Again, who does this?? You have to have s**t...
Clio is back from Two Techs. Belts, phaser, waterpump, oil service, 2 front wheel bearings and a fixed bonnet release. A couple of other bits done by them, great place, very happy. The headlights are being polished this afternoon and I will make an attempt at getting the Sabelt wheel on. Maybe...
I had a mk1 golf gti done at TSR, 1.9 pack c- so bored out a little and bigger valves and ported head. Maybe the cost-benefit on the F4RT isn’t good enough? Or gaining other areas easy to come by? I mean, relatively, .
Please could people make a lot more effort to sell upgrade parts in the for sale section, so I can fit them to the previously unloved cup I just took on?
Come on folks. Oh, and cheap too, please. 😁
Haven’t seen the cup for 36 hours… all going well at Two Techs when I last checked and hopefully it’s back Friday evening or Saturday. Did have it booked for a/c service and headlights being polished on Saturday so I’m hopeful it will be ready!
Despite it being currently a fairly steaming pile...
What a rollercoaster! Very happy for you and I hope it’s smoother from here.
I’m in DC very often and there is pretty much a complete absence of any interesting cars. Wherever you’ll be, your clip is going to stand out a mile!
Just read this through- great thread and congrats on your retirement. Keep busy! Just clips will do that to you, mind.
Also, you’ve taken some really good pictures, especially up on the moors.
In short: not as good as the first one
I had a 172 Cup 2011-13 and it was fab. Mark Fish looked after it and I clubsported it, stupidly sold it cheap to become a hard worked track car. Wish I hadn’t sold it!
So now, I’ve bought, with a sole eBay bid, a cheap cup again. And it’s s**t. I wanted...
Hi all, haven’t been on here for ages, but had a lovely 172 Cup that I clubsported about 12 years ago!
I’d like to get one again but it needs to be one of the 2003 ones with AC- too old to be fussed about that little extra weight and power sapping and they’re probably pretty rare now with so...
As the title really. My cup has the original speedline turini 16s, all 4 have some kerbing and flaking and would benefit from a refurb, they have michelins fitted, 195 45 16, prob 4-5mm up front, 3 at the back.
thanks for your advice!

Just to share, I was running on 3 cylinders, had the error code for injection system (can't remember it but same code as mentioned earlier here). Just change all 4 injectors, running super sweet now!
When you replace the fuel rail, it will feel like the injector o rings aren't popping into the...
that might work. i'll report back however i do it, but have packed up today, too much rain and too little time. i was thinking i might have to get the exhaust off of its hangers. Unbelievable how long it takes to fit seats single handed.
The electronics have been really easy (it's a 172 cup)...
Cheers Sam, why do i have no useful mates around at times like this! May have to get it on a ramp anyway, unless my wife is about to turn into my pit crew.
Hi everyone,
hoping someone can help- i am fitting sparco seats and the rear bolt on passenger side is blocked underneath the car by the exhaust- i can get a socket on it but can't get an extension on there- the silencer blocks it. Any suggestions? Just had the sports exhaust fitted by mark...
