Clio. It was absolutely finished when he got rid of it! He was driving down the road one time and his passenger front wheel overtook him. The car came to rest on the kerb with unreal amounts of damage. He fixed it all but it was maintained to the absolute minimum level!!
Get a big screwdriver and wrap the metal bit in a microfibre.
Jam it in the top of the door and bend the door outwards.
Stick a lump of wood (I used my jumper tied in a knot last time) and prop the gap open.
Stick an old coat hanger in the car and pull the door handle.
I recently wrapped a bonnet (and didn't use the striped glue stuff! D'oh!) and £100 is fair. It's not easy and if I had hair, I'd have torn it out. Very very tedious process.
That's smart repairable, my bloke would charge £70 for that. (35 for the bumper, 35 for the black plastic)
It's not an ideal repair (I wouldn't have it on my car!!) but it would pass the eye of a hire car company employee.
