here's the part numbers/prices (this is for the phs2 172)
centre section 8200332139 £148.21+vat
back box 6000073740 £103.38+vat
clamp 7703083397 £19.78+vat
total inc vat £318.86
i'm not on about "on paper 0-60" i'm talking everything from fun factor etc etc
remember cup's are for men
172bagss2 - it doesn't need one, but yes i agree you either spend £x on the engine or you go for a diff
£150 for the kit (£130 if you use a non renault kit)
£107 for the aux belt kit (MUST be done also)
basically someone who knows nothing about these cars has/or possibly hasn't done the work and you're now paying the price
what £1K to buy the diff, then what £300 to rebuild the box and £300 labour to remove/refit it plus a possible clutch change whilst you're at it
you're knocking on for £2K unless you're doing it DIY (good luck rebuilding the box if you are!)
a std 172 cup Vs a teg???? 172 everytime, you don't need an LSD, i ran a 240bhp NA 172 cup with a standard box and it pretty much wasted most stuff round track
ABS is for gays
LSD isn't needed
^ooh its nice up there, haven't been for years
the old wizz bang 1.2 16V engine will be fine until 5years, i changed mine at 60K, but that was mainly because the water pump was leaking through the bearing (very common, i suggest you change the water pump also)
