Sack doing it yourself, my old mans a pretty well recognised mechanical engineer and even he said he thought it was a bit iffy to do if you dont do them reguarly....
Speaking of which, Fred how you fixed to get booked in for March..? lol
It was in bristol near Daniel 'san.
Tbh mate, it was already a facking steal at what it was up for £8,495 IIRC, less than 45k on.
Plenty of history, if i knew i could have sold my 182 id have been on it like a bonnet!
It doesnt sound chavvy, its not overly intruisive at cruising speeds on the motorway either, get the hammer down and it opens it right up with a throaty growl.
Its probably the best purchase ive ever made with regard to cars, atleast on my 172 anyway
Not really tbh, sell it privatley, although saying that if the ones already for sale are anything to go by you arent looking at much more than £9k (ish)
You can sell it privatley if the finance company agree to it and the balance is settled on the sale, suppose its just finding a buyer that...
Happened to mine 6 months ago, ended up chopping it in for £50 to a Game Station, they only sell for £150 or so and a new laser is circa £90, cut my losses and moved on!
In the wanted section put up that you are looking for a standard airbox from a 172 Cup, although i am pretty sure all the 172 airboxes are the same as the engines are no different!
If you know its going to be cold in the morning do this >
Open all the doors and boot for a few minutes the night before, (say 3-4 minutes)
Wake up in the morning, no ice
The cheap cone filter is probably causing "heat-soak" and actually costing you power, personally, get a standard airbox and run it to factory specification as Renault intended it.
Just enjoy it for what it is, as you said moneys tight, normally asspirated engine's arent cheap to realise gains...
