Dave, this has got your name written all over it!!
(If I win the lottery, this is the car/model/colour i'd have as a daily, true story!!)

My Dad's had a few.
Yellow Mk3 with a vinyl roof, silver mk4 Estate and a brown saloon mk4 but had been in a whack and had a mk5 front end on it.
My Dads mate has a concours Aubergine mk2 1600E, had it from new!! I keep meaning to get him to email me some pictures. I've seen it in the flesh...
Get the oil and filter changed at a garage so they can dispose of the oil and you can get a stamp.
Go home, carry out the rest of the service yourself and keep all the receipts for the new owner.
Tbh, my example was pretty s**t. I don't earn £2000 in a weekend but my company does. But then I own the company! lol.
Add to the fact that sometimes, there's no point in spending an entire weekend cussing and getting proper angry with myself when I can just pay someone to do it!!
That's a very narrow minded view.
For me, if I spend £500 on labour getting my mechanic to do something that takes a weekend, I could be at work. At work, I could earn £2000 in a weekend.
It's all relative.
As above, don't waste your money.
Sort the headlights, spend a weekend giving it a proper good clean and sell it as it is. Make good what's there, don't waste money.
I thought you could only do that to the nearest MOT station. ie you couldn't drive it from Northampton to Sheffield!
Shiply is the easiest thing. God knows how some of them do it so cheap. Some charge 50p per mile! I wouldn't even get out of bed for that.
Lol, I don't even earn £20k per year!
Lets put this into perspective. I pay a mortgage for a house of two adults, two children, two cars, two abroad holidays a year.... On the same budget you've set yourself for modding cars! Mental.
In my experience, there are three types of people that like to mod cars...
1) Mechanical people. They buy the parts, mod the car, when they're bored the sell the mods, sell the car and lose very little money.
2) Then there's Cheque book modders. They just prefer to buy a car, send it away...
I'm 5ft 10 and can stand up in it.
Its a big job labour wise we were told. New pump, new injectors, new fuel lines, But parts aren't dear. Local LCV breaker wanted £350 for the lot. Its beyond us (like most stuff! lol) so it was easier and cheaper for him to replace the van than to pay a...
Sam's just bought a Vivaro and its a 55 plate done 90,000 miles.
You should see it, its like brand new! One owner, had seat covers on all its life, floor mats, the ply lining in the back is unmarked.... A proper one off for tidyness!
He's got a SWB Medium roof master he's going to be getting...
