This thread has got me thinking (and laughing) that people are under any kind of disillusion that 1200cc cars are fast/nippy/pokey/nimble etc and so forth but with every car the limitation is cubic capacity, end of.
Like the 172/182's there is in my opinion no difference in 0-60 times and top...
They do have quite stiff/heavy clutches but nothing that you wont get used to after a day or so.
Religious servicing a must, the belts like you said also are very important that they have been done..!
Could possibly be a combination of things...
The HT (high tension) leads could be faulty or the spark plugs could be at fault.
Failing that it could be a faulty injector, this might be unlikley but failing the above two it could well be, a diagnostic test may solve the mystery..?
