    NO NO NO NO NO NO NO AND NO!!!!! the 17mm compression nut DOES NOT need to be touched! your top cap is sitting too high in that pic, becasue you've undone the compression nut

    identical to the V6 clio (all 1998 onwards clios use the same identical top mounts)

    the top cap is only there to stop the strut falling out when the car is off the ground the small nut in the pictures clamps the spring
