lad took a pic of mine in the pub carpark yesterday, I find that happens a fair bit and people look at it all the time, think its more the colour than the car though
for b roads etc I find the eibach much more compliant, but I still miss my cooksports as they sit nicer
this is on approx. 30k cup shockers all round and back to back comparison as went straight from the cooks to the eibach
ai do need the cooksports back
just the front bumper, rear bumper, rear drivers quarter and the grills/inserts chap, getting the bonnet and wings done and a dint on the drivers door later in the year after major belt service and clutch
Not posted pics of the car in a while, few changes
lass went into the back of me at the lights few weeks back, only scuffed the bumper but it highlighted some other paint issues i'd been meaning to get sorted so she paid for the rear and I got the front end done as well whilst car was in, along...
It's not the reverse on mine either. It's a bearing wearing in somewhere as mine didn't do it brand new but after couple of k it started
Doesn't bother me though as track car and earphones in on trips to /from track :)
the mk1 frame is completely different, the mk2's have turrets from the front cross member that mean the frame is 'flat' the mk1 frame curves up at the front to meet the cross member directly
this can also cause clearance issues on engine aux systems so be aware of that too
the 172 stuff bolts to the mk1 subframe, but you'll need valver wings if you go that route to accommodate the widetrack. the ARB may or may not fit depending on exhaust routing. if it doesn't you need a Williams one
you'll also need fuel system/tank from a mk1 diesel as its all different iirc...
I've been using board tape for years as car mats in stripped cars, for a neater/more o/e sort of finish I just use the original mats as a template and chop out actual mat shaped cutouts of the tape :)
if its exclusively for track days, see if you can source some full slicks, imo nothing comes even remotely close (only disadvantage is you more than likely will require decent suspension to cope and some TDO's only allow slicks with roll over protection)
also consider the second hand market...
I am thinking of building it a home but tbh I just want it back on the road.
Cheers Chip-mk1 red one is a decent little tool for the job, I don't love it like the turbo but it's thoroughly excellent at what I built it for :)
........and gave the old girl a quick wash. cant wait to get her back on the road :)
looking bit neglected inside, someones moved in!
washed
drive reorganised
