if you just have a damaged fifth in the spare, thats usually an easy fix, just remove the end cap and get a decent 5th gear and synchro and slap it in. provided rest of the box is in good nick you should be laughing i have been through many many used boxes, and the phase 1 172 boxes are coming...

i love the fear people have, like water never gets in the bay when you hit a puddle or drive through a weir etc. there is no issue with jet washing the bay if your sensible, avoid the key areas such as spark plugs/dizy/coil etc etc. its al designed to be water resistant anyway so can take water...

ah right, although tbh I just drop the whole frame to do the mk 1 anyway, leave everything up top apart from 3x bolts to box from top box mount then undo 10 bolts or so for frame/side bars/4th mount/column and ball joint pinch and drop the lot so it hangs off the downpipe, box drops straight out...

I put another layer of wax on the roof and bonnet then ran out of time for the rest as it was dark! lol!
