    i'd start buy just changing the sump gasket, bit of a pig of a job if it is the crank seal you'll need to remove the gearbox, clutch and flywheel to access it

    sump gaskets do go, and so do the crank seals (occasionally) Leo's went and knackered his NEW alcon paddle clutch

    sounds like a new caliper to me 172's do the same thing get the brakes tested at an MOT station for peace of mind

    you should ALWAYS replace brake pads in axle pairs, ie do BOTH sides at the same time knackered caliper or slider is the cause
