Thats a fair bit of Money what about a 172 transplant its not that much more plus you get the brakes and suspension?
Vipers about the best there is but its pricy.
None RS dampers won't fit but springs will there interrchangable.
However if you don't get the right stuff for your car your asdking for a bad ride and problems.
There loads of 172 kits out there.
Custom is the only way to go Drop yozzasport a message though they have a place who can remap standard ECU's for £350 or try Chipwizards they do them for the same price.
remap isn't worth it if thats the only modification you have unless you have that plus a full decat and exhaust I wouldn't...
You won't get any decient coilover kit for £400 unless its second hand or GAZ (which I don't highly rate as there dampers are like metal bars).
Last time I looked they would have been about £45 for normal dampers
£550 or so for FK coilovers from John2modified on the forum. The Fk's are the way I'd go personally.
Any none RS (or even RS) springs will fit but you realy want the 1.4/1.6/dci springs not the 1.2 ones if your just going for springs as the 1.4/1.6/dci's have higher front end weights.
If you...
Best ring some Uk insurance companies. But with an alarm I cannot see any realy problems. Maybe your NCB prrof might be difficult though.
Why not drive it back I would Ok its not cheap fuel wise but what a great drive (if you take your time). However I've no idea where Dubai is.
Nope insurance is for 1 year if you make a claim then you still have o pay the rest of the years insurance. A few people have falled into the trap of 3 month into a policy paid every month they crashed there car (say £5k) they have a £500 excess and there full years insurance is £1k. They only...
Best get the exteneded Renault one. I've got it, it cover more than the normal 3rd Renault normal warently £600 or so I paid but I needed it extemding till 5yrs and 90k you can extend to all sorts of different levels.
Matt Black is the man you want he cna sell you a turbo cheap.
I know of a few blown turbos it must ba manurfacturing defects as I've yet to blow mine and its had a hard life.
Best ring around it totally depends on loads of factors. Ben_p on her pis 19 and pays about £3.5k I think but he has points so keep a nice clean licence and it will help.
You can pick up a very high milage 172 for £2.5k or a Mk2 phase 2 for £5k.
Aim for £6k and you can get some quite good...
CD changer was an option crusie and ESP came in about 53 plate from memoery but the way cars are built and sold there are 54 platers without cruise.
Auto light is standard on all along with wipers.
Cup cars are different though they missed most stuff.
Its not got the Cup suspension pack so thats why the wheels arn't athretical coloures.
Doesn't seem a bad pice if thats what they stuck it up for I'd expect £500 off though.
They have a rolling road type thing they get the car to brake the two seperate rollers if one brakes slows the roller down quicker then thats the difference.
Unfortunatly not
1) The ECU just reads resistance its does in instantily the throttle body is the slow bit of the proccess.
2) That will just tell the ecu that you want more throttle all the time just like sticking your foot down a bit more all the time there no less lag just more power always...
Dead easy as Fred said.
That one bolt yep needs undoing then in the boot remove the dudt cover and remove that bolt and the shock comes out.
No need to ever jack the car up.
£250 for cams but there not that good for making real power plus you need to get them timed in proper and might as well change the cambelt when your at it.
2.0 engine transplant is much better value but even thats not very cost effective when you see the prices of 172's.
Personalyl I'd leave...
They did it as they proably did a ECU check and found the maps were corrupted ie not standard so uploaded some new ones.
Superchip should upload the map again for free as these things do happen.
Best get new springs and dampers all the time it makes the ride much better.
Stock setups not bad though for what isn't designed as a racing car for ultra smooth racing tracks.
I went back to stock setup and I have to say its very good if you accept its compromises ie roll.
