I don't see how they recon they can speed it up its just a potentiomer on the pedal with a resistance from it being used by the ECU to calculate throttle openeing requested.
You don't need an uprated clucth until your start putting down over 200hp realy. My cars running about 180hp with a stock clutch and its fine.
These uprated clutchs are a right paint to live with day to day.
Veyr true the new car is very good most people just discredit it as there no sport version to comapare with. A proper comparison should be done ie non RS Mk2 vs none RS mk3.
There only two epopel on the forum who've done it (although a lot have been done of the forum)
Matt Black and 16V_Jon have done the conversions. Matt sells all the bits for £1.5k+vat (thst bassically a whole front end trasnpalnt ie brakes suspension etc). Fitment then well Matt done it in 16hrs...
No idea but probably 5hp or so don't forget though you've only 166hp as standard so if your using mayabe 50hp manataining your speed then put your foot down you're only getting 110hp so a 5hp drop is a fair bit plus that assums your at max power more likly you'll need 40hp to move and full...
I think they come in a variety of specs for road, fast road, track and pure race use. Dependng on spec will depnd what you need.
Best ask Yozzasport as they these cams and will have more details there demo cars runs them I think.
This is how to do it on a Williams but the cars are the same.
This picture should give you an idea.
Jack on the bit in red if your colour blind I've arrowed it in yellow as well. Don't jack and further forwards (marked in light blue) as this is where the chassic bends back up and the jack...
As Daz said ring around many places won't touch it or will charge a silly sum.
You should be able to get it done for £300~£350 cash.
Make sure they use a proper Renault clutch not a copy one in any circumstances its 8hrs labour so if the copy one fals you've got to strip the engine gearbxo...
Nope different chasic its uses bits but thats like saying a Skoda is a Polo.
Much of the wiring is the same though they tried to save costs by having the cars the same size etc so looms would be compatable.
Renault made a mistage when the printed the guide as they based it on a LHD car.
The brakes reservior is on the drivers side you need to remeove the engine cover if there is one and look down its directly above where the drivers brake pedel is (but under the bonnet obviously).
You cannot have the 172/182 manifold mods done so i take it your on about custo mmade intake/exhaust work? If so then thats mega (relitivly) money.
You cna fail a MOT test even with just an exhaust with the CAT still in place and still pass with a decat so there no safe route.
Cams are...
The best things you can do are suspension and tyre work IMo the gains in performace both on track and on a back road are much more.
Personally if you do want to tune though a custom made manifold back decat and exhaust system and then a cold air intake then there the expensive bit of cams head...
Don't forget. Don't plu the second sensor in thats what causes the light to go off.
Once the lights been set off you need have the ecu fault log cleared.
What about the dci option?
Also show off (or poor depends hwo you look) me has two cars so where do I vote the fastest ie the Mk1 or the longest ownership.
Low milgae is no benefit its been either laid up for ages or its only done very short drives so the bores and engine maybe more worn than a high milage one.
Thats a good price plus they don't charge for mods I don't think so might as well do some more to the car.
I iwsh i could get premoiums that cheap I'm quoted 505 more for standard cars.
Yep you could but don't go bodge it.
54mm hubs on the 172 and 58mm (usuable but as you know it differs) on the none Rs. So get the bolt holes drilled out and they will work but spring and damper rates are different.
Megan RS won't fit as the Megans got the new big block F4R you could swop the block and gearbox and use the 172/182 head but then you've got to mount the engine the mounts are different plus that megan RS box is bigger so you might have trouble getting it all to fit and be nicly balenced (Fred...
Its not the decat trust me.
Depends where you are in the country I'd recomend Matt at Renault specialist breakers (he's MATT BLACK on here) if you live up North and Mike at Rentech (mike@Rentech on here) if you live down south as there some of the only people who own the Renault computers but...
Its an adverage mpg.
If you sit there idling the engine and the trip says 100mpg that would mean for ever 100 miles you will burn 1 gallon if you sitting there going nowhere then you cannot be doing any milage your just buring fuel mpg is infact an error as 0 miles divided by the fuel burned at...
