I meant there not that quick in most people hands for the money being as there so much more than a Cup etc there no quicker realy.
Will be Cup be at Brands this weekend?
Its no suprise the cars so heavy.
Still best fun is reading the V6 repair manuals the amout of normal car stuff you have to butcher and weld its just amazing to make it fit.
Still they look stunning for all the slagging off I give them I'd have one over any normal 172/182 even for there...
I was round at a friends today and his neighbour who has a new Audi was telling us about his car and the service (or lack off) he's had. It makes Renault look superb. Then again on the way to his house my friend put his foot down in his A6 1.8T humm that was him gone in a few seconds and he...
Depends on a lot but there argued
Instant response plus theres no lag since they a constant load on the engne
More power right from the idle.
Easier to fit although thats a matter for debate.
Runs cooler than a turbo so not as much worry abou melting engine bits
can be mounted at the front...
A ordinary Mk2 brace will fit but I don't see it as being as important.
Fred its built like a tank as Renault needed something to bolt a Laguna engine in there.
I'd wonder what the weight saving would be to have it made of something more exotic. I'm sure thats smehting MikeT could spend his...
There no Uk supercharged valver or Williams as far as I know. There was one being made but it was still at the fitment stage last time I heard and it was beng sold on.
Theres a few turbo kits out with proven reliability so noone going to go do a supercharge route.
£1.5k+ vat for 172 running parts including brakes suspension etc. so its much better value so long as you don't have to fit it.
5GTT engiens arn't unreliable people just don't build them or tune them right.
4 pots off a GTt humm err the 5GTT runs standard brakes not 4 pots.
Bets gain £ per hp is a 172 transplant as the bits including brakes supension are only £1.5k + vat but then you've got to fit it.
Best change the oil ever 6k and get an air filter and a decat personally value for money wise.
Ebay is the bst bet.
They don't cover the 182s as the version everyone sells is probably 2 or more years old now before when the 182 was out it was bought from a dealership when it closed and shouldn't have ever been released into public use as its infact copyright of Renault UK.
If you have a 172 just unplug the second lambeda sensor and the light won't come on leave it plugged in and it will keep going off.
The 182's have problems in that this trick doesn't work.
Details of where it is are in one of these posts
Radio/CD/tape player details/FAQ etc

The setup differences gave it the 3mm lower ride height there were no spring changes.
Greater downforce is arguable a little spolier and front thng don't make any difference which you can tell.
Front track and rear was widened though the use of the diffferent offset no other changes to hube...
Ktec do an air filter. Get a custom exhaust proaly the best idea.
Personally I'd sort the suspension out first though it depends what you want out of the car though.

Ratios arn't much longer on the box total cost say £400 to swop boxes plus new clucth (might as well) then £400 for a box maybe but you'd not know what its like quality wise.
A dci 80 box is the way to go but the ratios are massivly to long.
1st gear would go to 35mph
2nd to 77mph
3rd to 110...
You need new engine mounts but yes just like any other Clio engine it will bolt in.
Making it run is a different matter a few more bits need to be done.
You are best off getting a whole 5GTT realy as you need loads of bits and pieces ie gearbox dial etc.
Driveshafts are a direct swop I belive...
