I looked at a white 1998 one with 33,000 miles down southampton this weekend (just imported so needs sva'ing etc) and was avaialable for £2300.
To buy one already reg'd/taxed/mot'd etc you're looking at anywhere between £5-8k.
Crying out to be freshened up.
(Clean number plates, clear repeaters, silver wheels etc)
But I love it. Silver and Lellow are the best colours for a 5 imo.
Airbag light is either due to ill fitting connectors under the seat (5 minute job-Remove connectors and solder the wires instead) or its had a smack and the airbags have gone off. If its the latter, it needs a new computer and they are mega bucks from Renault.
ABS light could be anything. Its...
I can't agree with any of the defence i'm afraid. (Not that any of you care...)
But My Dad is a little on the ''large'' side and doesn't enter/exit his cars gracefully at all. None of his Saabs/Mercs/Mondeos/Hondas/mazdas have ever done it.
Once, his Cavalier SRI seat went, but that was...
But Renault are s**t so I'm not sure what else you expect??
The design/handling department need a pat on the back. The wear & Tear/Durability department need a bullet.
I'd ring up tbh mate.
I lined up a load of stuff for my track car (about £360 worth) and when I rang to order it they either never heard of it or recomended something else. Ended up spending under £300 for the same list of stuff! lol.
I think you're doing the right thing in going 1.2/1.6/2.0 but I can't see the point in spending a load of money on it.
Your car and your money though. Either way, Capsicum red is a lovely colour!!
So you're planning on spending about £2000 on a 1.6 Clio??
You're mental. If it was me i'd just fit coilovers and Turini's as you can easily remove them come resale time.
Just enjoy the car dude! Don't waste your money. The 1.6's are really good little cars as they are.
£100 for a bonnet, £60 for both wings to be blended, £80-100 for a front bumper dependant on damage and anything between £30-100 for rear bumper. Again, condition dependant.
All plus VAT.
