    can i put cup susp.to mk1 172

there is a difference between 172, 172 Cup and 182 dampers. The 182 doampers wont fit a 172 but 172 Cup dampers will fit any 172. Cup dampers are better but there not worth upgrading to there are better aftermarket ones out there IMO.

    Finance

If I were in your position this is what Id do either. Keep the 1.6 any pay off the loan at a rate of however much you can afford. Even at £325 a month your still looking at 40 months. Sell the 1.6 and get a personal loan for £10.5k then buy a Mk1 172 for 5k or a higher milage Mk2 for £5k...

    What kind of engine fits

A 172 will be a bit of a challenge to fit but it can be done with custom mounts or throttle bodies but the cost will add up. Another engine preferably a fast one standard ie a 4agze is a good idea but getting it to run and work in the car will be a challenge. As said easier you can make most...

Id pay off the loan on the 1.6 first. Then buy a cheaper 172. Your just getting yourself into bigger and bigger dept. On another year youll want to trade in for somehting else and youll be £7.5k in negitive equity. Thats a lot of money. Can you realy see yourself keeping a 172/182 4 years...

    bushes

Id personally keep with stock ones. Ive heard a lot of issues with aftermarket poly ones with owners going back to stock ones again as they dont like the ride. Also poly ones can push to much load onto the mounting points and crack them.

    Diesel Induction

Unfortunatly the dci runs fixed fueling maps since unlike a petrol there is no lean or rich mixtures (withoin reason) that are unfavourable to the engines running. The only difference you can make make is to get more fuel into the pistons on each stroke this is done via custom remapping or new...

    Renaultsport Owners.........

A few people have tried it on my car. I cannot be bothered even showing them how quick it is. Most of then drive dangerously anyway so what the point theyll probably just end up pushing it to far and crash and Ill feel guilty.

    RS172 help

The rear ones wont make any difference due to the suspension design back there. Front one is worth doing its not that difficult to do. Emmision regualtion measn the engine is lumpy it shouldnt excessive though.

    172 Conversion

Your best giving him a ring realy see what he says but maybe its not worth the effort for him. Yep it includes all that stuff its basically the whole front end ASAIK almost. You could always but that 5 door conversion 172 from him and swop the 1.2 into that and that engine into your car.

    when fitting rear discs/bearings/pads...

Neither did I both times (Ive covered them in locking compound instead). Im not sure if there Renault only. There probably about £1.50 each Im to cheap and lazy though plus Id be buying them in bulk.

    172 suspension geometry

BenR can have spacers made up to adjust the camber at the back.

    172 Conversion

Matt charges £3k drive in drive out which is good value and they know what there doing so you know its a fixed price. For your £1.5k+ vat you get everything you need from a doner car ie engine gearbox, looms, ecu, radiators, all the wiring etc. All you need to do it fit it all its the wiring...

    emission light

Its because the sensors arnt expecting results like that even though they are legal. The ECu is programmed to expect a chnage of say .03 and the sports cat give a change of .06 which whilst still bringing the car to legal spec thows up a warning light.
  15. E

    emission light

The thing is the sensors expect a ertain realing difference from the start to the end of the cat. However the sports cat will not be as good at making a clean emmisions so the sensors thing the cats failed hence set the light off.

    when fitting rear discs/bearings/pads...

Get a copy of the Haynes manual it lists all the procedures there. 175Nm for the central nut and it should be replaced every time not refitted after being used once. 65Nm for the caliper bolts though. 90Nm for the wheel nuts.

    Widest Tyre on 15*6J

I think Yozza runs 205/45 so there not much off the size of a normal 185/55 or a 195/50. On the corvers they should give slightly more grip though.
  18. E

    emission light

Its just one of those things some people have decats with both sensors with no trouble at all. Others have decats and they set the emmision warning light off straight away. You can still use the car with no performace loss though if you want.

tourque wrench setting ....... what is it

One daNM is 10 NM so the hub nuts are 175NM the wheel bolts 90NM. The abreviation Da comes form the Latin word daca or ten.

    emission light

Its problems the second lambeda sensor which has caused the fault. Remove the sensor tape up the connections and have the fault cleared.

    Widest Tyre on 15*6J

Ive got 195/50s on mine. You can stiock 205 on I think as thats what yozza uses. Profile wont matter as that only realated to the height of the tyres.

    valver arches rust

Personaly Id cut the rust out myself. Then coat the whole area in rust preservative and make some fiberglass mounds up to cover the area where the wing no longer exists. Then filler and paint. Its about £350 I think to have them done properly to be cut out and new ones welded in.

    Diesel Induction

You wont make any extra power maybe a slight responsivness increase but its barly noticable. Diesels need more fuel and boost (if there smoking) to make more power nothing more. What diesel do you have? The 65s made good gains with an intercooler (and custom remap) after all running as much...

    cup for a williams

Id personally keep a Cup. The cost/reliabilty of running an older car particularly one built by Renault can be terriable least the Cup is more modern. If you want to save costs get a boring slow relaible diesel. A Williams is only usable as a second car IMO or least if you dont need a car for...
