I have lots! lol. My main pride and joy is a mk1 CLi16v with a 172 engine. (thats still not finished! lol)
Me personally, I wouldn't bother touching it. It seems that whenever a Renault Is modified, it will break down. Both mentally and physically.
If I was you, i'd spend money when its...
£2500 is a good price already, but if you can get it for less and the history is all good (& check my list that I gave you) then its a bloody good buy!
Theres plenty of life left in it!
I just use a long wheel brace. I've removed all sorts with them.
Its just a left hand thread that winds itself onto the nut and eventually removes it completely. Piece of piss to use.
You've made me question my sanity now....
Rear discs and Bearings: £136 (K-tec)
rear pads: £25 (ebay!)
Front discs: £50 Euro car parts
Front pads: £40 Euro Car parts
Fluid (cheap one to flush, good one to replace) £30
Labour.... £100 ish??
Well, £350 then. LOL!!
Have you ever bought front discs/pads rear discs/pads/bearings and ABS rings? Plus labour? Plus a fluid flush??
There may be change for a pint... Possibly.
Take it from me, buy one thats had a load of money spent on it already.
This thing (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1093618.htm) will have cost a fortune to build! Yours for £1900 (less if you're good at haggling! lol)
Do all of these things:
Make sure the engine is stone cold when you get there. Accept NO excuses.
Check front discs and pads; think £500 to replace that lot.
Check you have a reciept for cam/auxbelt AND the tensioners/idlers. Again, £500 to sort MINIMUM.
Check the tyres are of good...
