I had one and if I'm honest, it was rubbish. Everything it was designed to be (sporty, modern day hatch) it was rubbish at. The handling was comical compared to my 205 gti, It leaked more water than i've ever known (sunroof, rear tailgate seal, rear light seals....) Just a terrible car...

I had my main PS pipe go on my old 172. Complete c**t of a job to fix. Although IIRC, its easier on non a/c equipped cars.

Engines need air to run dude! That sound was air being sucked in!! If it was really loud, then it was probably an open cone induction kit.

Schwep, go for something Turbo. If you buy a phase-1, it will cost a load of money to get it how you want it. It will cost a load of money to maintain (Belts/brakes upkeep of a 9y/o car in general) and tbh, it drives pretty much the same as your 182. And if you remember, you're bored of it...
