I'd personally only look at a car that had the following....
4 good quality matching (at least Axel matching) tyres,
FSH, including a cam/aux belt within the last 20k.
Standard suspension set up.
Brakes have plenty of meat on them.
All that work alone will cost £1000 should you buy...
My mate, a panel beater (who is obviously good on the spanners but has never EVER seen the inside of an engine) fixed my old 1.4 clio by using the internet and a socket set.
Cost me £75 for parts and that was it. (HG kit, Oil/Oil filter/Coolant and a cambelt)
If you know a bit about how it...
If its never going to get used on track, i'd go Trophy.
I've driven both on track and the 197 is much more fun.
225 is better everyday though. Turbo kick is wicked.
Cup was the quickest withoubt a doubt.
All the rest were about the same to be honest. But then they did all have the same sort of mods. (Stainless, IK, decat)
Loving that Caterham thing in the first couple of minutes!!
I love track days when you feel like your making really go progress and then one of them goes past like your in reverse!!
