Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
PMSL!! If i started cutting my front bumper in the front room, my Mrs would cut my nuts off!!
Cant wait to see it mate. Really good progress there. :)
All my cars get love! :)
Admitedly i drive them to the limits but they always get serviced every 3-4000 miles and so far (touches wood) i've not had any problems.
My old phase-1 172 was faultless in the 18 months i owned it and did 3 track days in it!!
This is a very good forum though ;)
The only thing i didn't like about my 197 was the fuel consumption.
I don't think the thing went above 23mpg. Awful imo.
Loved everything else though. The suspension and brakes were immense!
Re: The story of a high mileage 172
Excellent read!
My last two 172's have been on over 100k and both were pretty good tbh. Although my 1st one had 40k on it and was bloody brilliant!!
Running costs aren't too much of an issue.
Insurance is paid for, as is fuel (to a degree) and tbh, i'll probably only do about 100 miles a month in it. Although leaving a TVR sat round for that long may prompt niggly failures of some components and that will piss me off!!
Looking at a new car soon,
(sorry if this is in the wrong section)
Around £14k is the top of my budget ideally.
So, mint Clio V6 with low miles.... or.....http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/454420.htm
My dad had a Silver Cav Sri 130. I thought he was the coolest mother fucker around!! C45 AAE was the reg. Was a minter. Sadly got stolen and trashed by some scummy council estate scumbags. :(
