wishbones/ball joints, inner rods, rod ends, top mounts, steering rack bushes, inner/outer ARB bushes?
I'd double check they actually need replacing before splashing out though
have you taken the whole light unit out and cleaned the connectors?
might be worth checking if there is a voltage just to rule out a wiring issue but it could be a new light unit job.
Thanks!
Yeh they are 4x100. They are currently on an old VW golf.
I intend to run them with 195's too if that makes any difference?
chip did you get my last pm re: wheels?
Ive been offered a set of 15" (7" wide) prorace 1.2's as track wheels for a bargain price but the offset is ET25.
The car will be lowered on Sportlines so I am not sure if these will fit.
Does anyone if these will cause any issues?
Cheers
Easy job, just be careful not to pull the driveshaft out.
You can get Lemforder ones for about £20 each.
They are well regarded on here from what I can gather.
Dont forget that new genuine wishbones come with ball joints and bushes already pressed in so there is no need to powerflex them right away.
I'd say about £200 max in parts for the bits you listed (minus additional wishbone bushes ofc)
I'm about 50% sure its the earlier phase one gearboxes but I'm sure a quick search would clarify/confirm this for you.
Just check for whines and drones at various speeds and make sure it engages shifting up and down and ensure it drives in all gears. The gearboxes do feel pretty loose and crap...
the black one looks straight enough but if, like the ebay ad suggests, the price doesn't include VAT it is way overpriced IMO
the blue one looks nice, seems it is owned by an enthusiast so "should" have been looked after.
both adverts are fairly comprehensive and cover most of the usual...
the ground just about level... the pic does make it look like it has more gradient than it does.
It has loads of service history, invoices for all sorts of silly little things but nothing about springs...
could they be non cup springs or are they the same?
It does feel a bit wobbly about...
I bought my clio 172 cup as a bit of winter project to get ready for some trackdays next year.
There are several jobs that need doing, rear brakes, ball joints etc but nothing major.
However, it seems to be sitting a little low on the back/high on front. Does this look normal? its parked on...
Still waiting for mine but from this guide

it seems 2 washers are all that's required for the gearbox end.
looking for a 172 project car and just wondered if anyone knew anything about this before I go have a look?
