I would imagint the wheels are the wrong offset as 17s should fit when lowered no problem. A customer at work has coilovers AND 17s and its fine. Sounds to me like you've been sold the wrong size wheel my friend.

Just buy any old 'wet capable' vacuum cleaner. I used to spray the entire carpet with AutoGlym interior cleaner, go over the lot with a pressure washer, vac out all the water, and jobs a goodun. I used to do that when i used to valet Taxis with beige carpet, works a treat.
