If i fit one, i understand it will suck in hot air. If i cut out a a4 sized hole in the bonnet and meshed it with a scoop above it, (Proffesional job in a bodyshop, not some tinsnips) would that aid performance? Or would this just be a nobbish thing to do?

if it was £500 and it was as you described, you'd be a complete tit to turn it down! Buy it, a new box fitted will be £350-400 and Robert is your mothers brother. Keep it aswell, its better than a 182.

just soak them with very warm water 10 or so minutes before you wash the car and they'll fly off (excuse the punn!) Polish the front end after and next time, the flies will be so much easier to remove. (don't do any of this in direct sunshine)
