Yeah I've noticed this too. As you say the first press in the morning is vague.
You're right the hotter they get the better they seem to be. Could this be the fault of the pad? So I'm told DS 2500's are suppose to work well from cold. Never encountered this with the DS 2500's used on Integra...
I know this question has been asked many times before. Done a search also. Looked at a few websites already. Comparing prices.
After a set of O.Z. Superturismo's 16" x 7 in white.
Anybody have ideas of retailers which offer a good price.
Many thanks.:)
Fitted last week to the front: Brembo Max discs, Ferodo DS 2500, Goodridge braided hoses, fluid change.
Felt fine when fitted, crisp and keen to bite.
Waited 250 miles before giving the brakes a moderate work out over eight miles. After which felt fade. Used the car next morning from cold...
Just had Goodridge items fitted last week. Wouldn't say there's a huge amount of difference over standard items...so far.
Yet to get the discs and pads out of the "greening" stage before I can make a fair assesment of all the mods.
Ah the Intergrale. What a wonderful car.:D
My friend had a Swiss 8v cat Evo back in 98. I still would say it's one of the only cars which is able to demolish roundabout sections at serious speed....safely!
In this months Evo the Intergrale is compared to current hot hatchs. Unfortunately...
^Thanks for the thread, looked at that one previously.:)
Apparently it only occurs when giving the brakes hard usage after treating them easy through running in.
Though I don't understand the science behind the term "greening". Does it mean the pad is initially glazed?
This hasn't...
Does anybody have an idea how long this process lasts? Ive done a search and read the thread about it.Does greening only occur when new pads AND discs are used?
I know my paintwork rather well, positive they weren't there beforehand.
Those MF towels look rather decent. You can vouch for their performance, totally scratch free?
I use a wiping action with the Der Wunder towels. Though I definatley noticed much finer swirls marks after SRP ing and EGP ing the car.
Been using the wiping method with the Der Wunder towels since I bought them a few months back.
The polishing cloths were hand washed. They were stained with dirty marks but looking and feeling them felt as if they were new when dry from the wash.
Whats all this about microfibre cloths scratching? I thought they were designed not to do this?
SRP'd and EGP'd the car since it I hadn't done so in the last three months.
Usual method of washing with two buckets,901, drying with the Der Wunder towels.
I'm almost certain more swirl marks have appeared after completing the above process. Noticed in with sun shining on the car.
I used...
^ Thanks for the thread. After reading you intial post there, that's exactly what mine feel like.
So this greening "process" only lasts a short period and is remedied by a few hard stops here and there, nothing too extreme?
Did your's improve after the greening period?
Discs aren't shiny yet, becoming that way, somewhat grey with very tiny grey speckles.
Noticed from cold today brakes aren't biting as they did before last night's spirited drive. 220 miles covered before giving the brakes a little workout.
Will the biting return to what it was with a...
Could be the compound not curing yet? but after a spirted drive this evening of 12 miles or so I noticed brakes weren't bitting and stopping to well.
More bedding in required? Or just more pedal pressure as components become hot?
I'm 33 now, I just bought my 182 Cup eight months back. Glad to return to the hot hatch class.
Owned many quite a few performance vehicles beforehand. Still intend to own many more.
Welcome.:)
