i think he means where did they manage to pick up the signal for the rev counter (iirc waynes rev counter doesnt work) not where they actually got the rev counter from :)

yeh the valver engine is out of mine, interior is gone, started to collect bits for it aswell, still on the hunt for a 172 gearbox.
this weekend is gonna be dash out, valver loom pulled through from engine bay, de-grease engine bay and hammerite subframe, remove pas from 172...
wayne uses a renault safrane alternator and bracket iirc but i cant find one of the bleeders
he has also said a volvo 440 alternator and bracket which im looking at now, but as per my other post in here they have 2 different types of bracketa and i dont know which one i need!!

also can i just use the valver speedo drive in the jc5 box?
as you say even if i get the 172 box im gonna have to sort the mount, beaniemoo is doing it and says 4 out of 5 bolts line up with the inner wing and one needs some...
is the gearbox from a 2.0 16v megane to suit f7r the same as a williams box?
i need a new box for the 172 engine but undecided whether to use a 172 box or this one?
how much different is the 172 unit to the williams? ie ratios etc as im led to believe they mount up the same?

when i bought the car off the previous owner he handed me the keys and said right the main key works the drivers door and none of the others (pass door and tailgate locks are paggered), then pointed to the immobiliser dongle jobby and said what it was for, then there was another smaller key on...
why whats up with your box?
i always had a doubt in my mind about using the valver box, its done 114k and im not gonna go easy on it lol
prob save myself future hassle by getting a 172 box, any other recommendations for gearbox on a 172 for track and fast road use?
