Not gonna lie I've never seen an mot sheet with so many issues listed. It sounds like the car is used and abused. To have that amount of issues at 114k on an e39 isn't great. I would expect the car to have 50 owners and 250k miles with a fail sheet like that! He should get a brand new Kia...

I much prefer the speed limiter to cruise control. Barely ever used it on any car, I'm just not keen on the feeling of the car running away from you. Fine at 4am when there's not a sole on the road but I found I had to concentrate even more with it on. It's not relaxing at all!

Sounds like pads. Have a check of them. Pads and discs ain't expensive at all and might be worth changing. Also a brake fluid change should help a bit too
