    Colesy 182 turbo revival

Cheers! Pretty sure it’s got a paddle clutch in it at the moment as it’s very on/off but I will decide when I’ve got it all apart. Ideally I’d like something that’s easy to use day to day

    Colesy 182 turbo revival

😂 yeah I have. Was all set to book a track day last week then they locked it all down. So that’ll sit in the garage until next year now

    Colesy 182 turbo revival

I know right, baffled me too! The hole isn’t even nicely cut, looks like it’s been done with a punch!

    Colesy 182 turbo revival

Been meaning to start a thread for the 182 for a while. While in the previous lockdown my dad had the bright idea that he should buy a 182 and a turbo’d one at that. He found this car on eBay, bought it unsighted and had it delivered to his house. The plan for him buying it was that we could do...

Nice one mate glad you got it sorted @MLB

    Alternator fitment

100%, hammer action is the last resort when all else has failed

    Alternator fitment

No worries mate! Just rig up a little puller with a socket and nut/bolt and it should move, failing that hammer with a punch usually works too lol

    Alternator fitment

Need to push the spacer out then it’ll drop straight on and then when it’s bolted up it’ll pull back out

Alternator and belt required for PMS air con delete

I’ve gone epas and run a cup alternator setup. Seemed a simpler option for me. Can then run a 5pk847 belt as you’re only running water pump and alternator

172 Gripper installed - vibration turning one way

Just read that entire thread Martin, you’ve certainly been on a journey with your car. Clubsport spec is definitely the way to go!!

Colesy track car build again 172

Thinking out loud this but bare with me. I’ve got a pms lightweight pulley on an alternator, do you think I could fit it to my cup alternator and run a 4pk848 belt in replacement for the 5pk847? Would it work, any downside?

Colesy track car build again 172

That’s good to know thank you!! It really was, and disheartening when I’d just had it mapped to then drip oil everywhere. When the turbo eventually comes up to my house I shall start another thread. It’s currently my dads but I’m having it off him as he’s retiring to the coast, and he blew the...

Colesy track car build again 172

Not sure anyone reads this thread anymore but I shall carry it on all the same 😃 Finally after 3 months it’s oil leak free. After initially thinking it was the sealant filled main cap leaking it was actually the sump gasket. All sorted now though! Now the engine side of things is sorted I can...

Colesy track car build again 172

So after a couple of months of having absolutely no motivation to get the Clio back together due to an oil leak, the engine is finally back in and touch wood oil leak free so far! Still some little bits to sort out, but hoping to get out on track later this year (cheap winter track days ftw😝)...

    Standard 172 Cup - 195/45 R16 Tyres

If you want a ‘budget’ tyre I’d recommend the TR1 far better than the outgoing t1r, plenty of grip in the wet and dry. But if budget isn’t an issue Pilot sport 4 all day long
