unplug your fan switch-what happens? have you checked the fan relay in the n/s inner wing relay box? has it always done this?(is it the type with the timed fan operation after the engine is switched off,some models have this along with the electric coolant pump situated neare the bottem hose)

sounds like the starter/computer is playing up(the part that supplies the high voltage spike to start the bulbs).you need a spike of 20,000volts to start the bulb and then 80volts to keep it going.i think xenon bulbs are gauranteed for 10 years.
your going to need the rest of the immobiliser system as well.only trouble is if you have a clio 2 mk2 then the immobiliser/internal computer is a different type to a clio 2 mk1 so the looms wont match up(mk1=ucbic mk2=uch).but if you fit a mk1 loom non of the dashboard controls will plug...
if youve had the car for a while and didnt notice it when you picked it up then its going to be hard to prove to the garage that you didnt do it.a lesson for everybody here,take a good look around your car before taking delivery of it.
to convert it would cost you a fortune to buy all the parts new.you would need either an written off 172 so you could retreive all the mechanical/electrical parts you req(try to find one thats had a heavy rear end smash) or just sell yours and buy a 172.
factory fit immobiliser which does have a thatchem rating.you should also have a alarm certificate to prove that the alarm is thatchem approved as well.the certificate is filled in when the alarm is fitted at the import centre.
no the access oil would have just been sucked into the engine through the engine breather system.i wouldnt leave the oil level to high though as it will increase crankcase pressure and might create oil leaks.
