    unplug your fan switch-what happens? have you checked the fan relay in the n/s inner wing relay box? has it always done this?(is it the type with the timed fan operation after the engine is switched off,some models have this along with the electric coolant pump situated neare the bottem hose)

    xenon lights

    sounds like the starter/computer is playing up(the part that supplies the high voltage spike to start the bulbs).you need a spike of 20,000volts to start the bulb and then 80volts to keep it going.i think xenon bulbs are gauranteed for 10 years.

    your going to need the rest of the immobiliser system as well.only trouble is if you have a clio 2 mk2 then the immobiliser/internal computer is a different type to a clio 2 mk1 so the looms wont match up(mk1=ucbic mk2=uch).but if you fit a mk1 loom non of the dashboard controls will plug...

    if youve had the car for a while and didnt notice it when you picked it up then its going to be hard to prove to the garage that you didnt do it.a lesson for everybody here,take a good look around your car before taking delivery of it.

    to convert it would cost you a fortune to buy all the parts new.you would need either an written off 172 so you could retreive all the mechanical/electrical parts you req(try to find one thats had a heavy rear end smash) or just sell yours and buy a 172.

    it should be on there system that it has a factory fit thatchem approved immobiliser.might be best to ring them up and explain.

    factory fit immobiliser which does have a thatchem rating.you should also have a alarm certificate to prove that the alarm is thatchem approved as well.the certificate is filled in when the alarm is fitted at the import centre.

    too much oil :(

    no the access oil would have just been sucked into the engine through the engine breather system.i wouldnt leave the oil level to high though as it will increase crankcase pressure and might create oil leaks.

    run some coolant flush through it first then blast a hose pipe up your hoses,radiator and block to dislodge any dirt.

    the suspension leg splits from the hub.just undo the 2 large nuts and bolts(either 18 or 21m cant remember)

    its only because the starter moter causes a large current drain on the battery so causes the lights to dim.

    where you from? i get quite a large staff discount on renault parts.labour for the rt will be the same as a williams(same design etc different bearing).you will need a press.

    you may have spiked the inj computer when you jump started it.try disconnecting the battery for 10mins.

    time will tell.i think he has a sensor or connection fault nothing to do with the cat.his warning light came on two soon.the computer wont have been able to self test and fail the cat however it would pick up a connection/faulty sensor problem immediatly.

    gearbox would have to be removed and completly stripped to remove the diff and change the bearings.
