Buy the 360 and use that as your dvd player, the quality is actually pretty good.

That's also a good option. A 32" will do the job and I'm more than happy with my own. My placement in the room is similar to yours and due to the empty space either side of my TV that's why I feel it can look small. The screen size for viewing is fine, far better than my old 28" tv.

Go for a 37" in that size of room.

I'm probably 7ft from my 32" lcd and the size and picture are great. Alot of it depends on the size of your room. I sometimes wish I'd bought a 37" because my room is big and the TV can look small due to that. My mum also has a 32" lcd tv and in her room it looks huge.

I think the PS3 games will be no better or worse than the 360 which means my decision to buy the PS3 will be made purely on the dvd aspect and the 1 or 2 exclusive games I'd like to play. If F1 PS3 turns out to be a great game then that alone will probably seal my purchase.

It just doesn't look any better from those screenshots than any I've seen for the 360 or PC games, if anything they look worse. I'm still interested in buying a PS3 when it is released but I'll hold judgement till nearer release day.

Of the various reports I've read so far most are not very positive about the PS3. I think they were expecting something which would be lots better than the 360, what we've got is pretty much the same but with a High Def DVD player.

The TDU trailer is great, just finished watching it. I'll give that a try tonight or tomorrow depending on when it hits the Marketplace. Wish I could play 360 at work.

Thankfully I'm single so I've no worries about when I can play these demos :)

I stay nearer to Glasgow but my mum lives in East Calder so I'm over that way quite often visiting her or shopping/eating in Livi.

I trust the sat nav more but I always use the car speedo anyway.
