One thing at a time,he is only changing the box,so worthwhile doing.If he was rebuilding the engine then yes as you suggest.
Be careful to tell whoever does this work what you are revving to as some company's will take too much off and then Bang.
Anything that puts less strain on the engine IMO is worth it,also get it balanced at the same time.
Ours cost £80 to be done by a race engineering firm

I joined this club ages ago,I think it was £70-£75 as a full one membership.You get to see testing etc and have a full rundown with Richard Noble(very nice chap indeed).Good cause and I hope they do it.

When we did the Enduro event in Brno they told us whatever you do,do not try to move and let the DTM's pass,they will come past whatever and wherever you are,they were right,fook are those thing's quick,closing speed is immense.
