Mine made 197 bhp, so edging closer to 200, but I agree - around the 190 mark seems like a peak figure on the standard inlet / throttle set up. I'll let you know the difference the trumpets make in August!
In response to the OP, I had the 438's, remap and a custom induction set up put on. Haven't got matched inlets though. Results were;
Before - 174.8 bhp, 157.6 lb ft
After - 197 bhp, 165.6 lb ft
So, yes, there is a lot of difference. It pulls like a train and i'm very happy with both the bhp...
Fair enough. But ignoring RR figures, it really boils down to how happy I am with it and how it drives. And i'm very happy.
I'll be even happier come August with the Trumpets on....
I'm only quoting the figures from the RR. It pulls extremely well and i'm really happy with the drive. Quite a few people on here have checked the K-Tec RR against Surrey RR and had very comparable results. Have a look at my project thread which shows Danny from 519 stating this. Hardly in his...
Me or shiftspark? If it is me, i'm on standard inlets, and the induction kit is a custom creation from K-tec that i can't give too many details on as they are planning on developing the product. If you want to know more, suggest you give them a ring.
Only just seen this thread. Alot of you guys in this thread know this, but i'll summarise mine for those interested in 438's and who may look at this thread both now and in the future.
Standard (bar exhaust and generic map) - 174.8 bhp & 157.6 lb ft
With cams, new induction and remapped - 197...
Hello mate,
How is she running since the RR day? Like the others have said, I average 30.2 MPG on a 6.5 mile each way journey to work, so yours doesn't sound out. Got to 34.8 MPG the other day but that was a return trip to Warwick at 70 nearly all the way up the motorway.
Mine ran 197 bhp...
Awesome, couple of photos of the flamer appeared. Cheers, Daz, thank your mate. And I agree, the last photo of the wheel of yours spinning looks epic.
Oli
Will, what is the time limit on doing this and getting over to you, i'm off to the states on Saturday for a week, but want to get the info over to you. I was intending to post the graph of it after its work, as opposed to the actual day, as Luke wasn't up early enough to photo mine as it ran...
I was there, along with about 30 other people. And I don't think I have sworn once on this forum, so I wouldn't generalise chaps...everybody is different.
I can't understand the anti k-Tec rubbish either. Will - flamer made 197bhp and 167 LB ft after the 438 cams...check out my project thread for the graphs. Happy days!
I'm up for it, just not this week as I'm in the US with work. Dan - lol at Gatwick! I'll leave the axle stands in reception tomorrow morning mate. Next time your in the office i'll run you out in the flamer so you can see the effect of the cams if you want...
