Guys, is electrical contact cleaner ok to use to clean the pc out tomorrow when i fit the boys new motherboard and processor, obviously i would only use a bit just to get shut of dust etc.

Yea that's my get out of jail with my lads PC, his monitor is 1440p and his current 2060 will run 1440 @ 120fps, so no point in him upgrading his GPU, just hope he is happy with his Asus Rog B550 MB and 5800x CPU.

Isn't 1440p the gaming sweet spot rather than 4k?

Just for the record i wasn't calling anyone a c*nt..... ;) It's not being spoilt asking for a PS5, but i would imagine it would be heart breaking for a family or single parent who have had to save like f*ck to make their childs Xmas special, only to find out the item them saved for is now...

I don't agree, imagine how many parents are going to have to pay well over the odds or get themselves into debt to make sure their kids aren't disappointed on Xmas day, Should ban private resales for 3 months after purchase imo.

In a couple of weeks time i will have B360m motherboard with an I5 9600kf processor for sale, it happily runs warzone etc at 1440 in 120fps, i may also have a masterliquid lite 120 cooler to go with them, PM if your intertested, less then 12 months old. Also easily overlooked, Keyboard, mouse...

Cheers mate, thermal paste should be here later this week i think, then will tackle it.

So they have mailed back admitting it's on the wrong way, and asked if i am confident enough to turn it round myself, it should be a straight forward job, i have ordered thermal paste, do i need to order something to remove pre-applied paste? or if looks ok just turn it round and screw it down...

Its just a pity i can't get the brackets for his water cooler...

The cooler comes with pre applied MX2 paste for easy assembly, at £20 i don't think it's looking to break any records on the cooling front... 😂

Yep, doesn't have the bracket, and it looks like they are not longer made for that cooler, so can't fit it, i don't think cooling will be a major issue, and from what i am reading it looks like the fan just clips on, so i may well be able to swap it round.

Right anti static bracelet and MX-4 thermal paste order, i hope i can just turn the fan round instead of taking it off.... 😂

Just says its been fitted with pre applied mx-2 thermal paste, i have sent them an email to see what's gone on.

i will have a look, i don't really want to move the cooler round as it will disturb the thermal paste etc won't it? sorry this is all new to me. It came pre assembled, i would have assumed they would mount the fan to suit airflow?

He has a mid size case so size and space shouldnt be an issue, as long it supports 5800x cpu, he runs a 2060 super card, and the monitor via dvi, its always got Lan as well, so wifi not really an issue, been looking at this :-...

i am hoping your right, if i can get my hands on a 5800x i will be changing my lads CPU and motherboard to AMD, never done anything like that before.

Not sure if you have played it, and i know it's old but i am a few hours into the Witcher, it's brilliant.

Spoke to them yesterday, they couldn't say either way, spoke to Scan and they just said they will be available to order online at 2pm on the 5th, so will just have to be ready.

I know it's going to be a lottery, but i am hoping to get hold of a Ryzen 7 5800x for my lad on the 5th Nov, anyone got any idea if they will be available to pre-order before that? or where would be the most likely to have stock on the 5th? i would normally wait, but it's for his bday next month.
