I believe its this one i bought! didnt really want to risk gearbox leaks from an ebay special.
My only gripe with it is some of hex fixings on the side demands imperial allen sizes.😤
right yeh i get you now! sorry i thought you meant replacing the original sensor. I guess the only problem you have is making sure you're not hitting anything else, the pressure transducers are fairly chunky.
I went for the sandwich plate alternative.
so the switch default to off in the event of an open circuit? As the wiring for the original oil pressure sensor will just have to dange? unless to bridge the connection maybe?
So many ph1s loitering at the top of the projects forum!, if only the weather was nicer I'd do a token job to bump mine to the top to join you guys.
An early example too. Will be following.
If the weather a bit better I'd go and get my sump off to confirm if its a ph1 thing.
Unfortuatley I've started renovating my hallway so clio will not be getting a lookin for a couple of months probably.
Thanks dude! for what it's worth I feel pretty out my depth with it too! "while I'm at it" is such a dangerous mantra and now I just have to keep moving forward with it!!
I'm sure it'll be fine in the end, and if not I'll try again :D
I believe im running 20mm spacers with these.
Callipers need to get machined down slightly also.
No idea what is needed for the 2118s though, but i know its possible.
Fabrication is sadly not within my repetoir, I'm a humble pencil pusher by trade.
Would be amazing if someone on here wanted to put a few together wouldnt it!
classic, well do we at least know the treaded section length for the standard bolt?
Based on this picture I would say 20mm, (1x thread pitch and 20 threads... slow day at work). The lead in feature will just be to help alignment for assembly.
Would love to have a unit like that! maybe one day!
Car looks in good condition externally! How are the arches? Definitely need to keep these ph1s going ;)
Scope creep is a great term, and very appropriate.
Annoyingly my fabrication skills leave a lot to be desired, so may reach out to PMS and see if they'll sell me just the custom made bit, unfortunately if not I will just have to buy the whole kit.
Happy to go at my sump with a grinder at...
I think you actually posted on my other tread @Mertin re ARP bolts. I initially was going to leave the bottom end alone but have decided now that I am going to drop the sump and replace the bolts. Potentially the oil pump at the same time as this appears to help the low oil pressure issue...
Looks like the PMS kit has an extra little part to it. Does this mean you can't just order the pump from Renault? The cost difference between that and the PMS part is significant.
Ok sounds good, I will have an inspect of the bearings. To be honest opening up the block is all a bit new to me hence the questions, but it sounds like it should be straight forward enough.
What is the bigger diesel pump? A worthwhile upgrade?
Exactly what I wanted to hear.
Is it advisable to change the rod bearing for good measure? There was nothing noticeably wrong with them last time the engine ran... 13 years ago
I'm pretty sure im going to drop the sump on my track build but I've already put the head back on so cant disassemble the block completely. There is also nothing wrong with the block or bottom end bearings (i dont think) which is why i initially didnt plan on openning it up at all. But if the...
I gave it a tap but it still just popped off, I noticed though once you have the flywheel off you get a bit better access so will try again at some point. Failing that I will have to get creative, might need a new sump...
Lol this! They ask stupid money for an annoying fastener! Screw that! I'm...
Has anyone replaced their sump bolts with regular cap heads to get rid of the nasty inverted torx bits?
I want to drop my sump and one of the hardest to get to is already rounded with a couple of others looking worse for wear.
I'd just replace them with standard cap heads if possible, they...
Hmm, so I appear to have made the mistake of following the video by James Stone as a guide... Not the first person on this forum to do this it would appear.
I've used the silicone he used in the vid SI5890.
Now it would seem I'm in the difficult position of deciding if i scrape it off and start...
So, its been a while since I posted hasn't it!
I had a nice timing plan for the build set out with the engine being back in the car before winter. Got to ordering all the parts to make that happen, then... CatCams.... Placed my order through in October with plenty of time and sunlight and nice...
Oh amazing, thanks for the quick replies. I have these pulleys to go in too so I could utilise these.
But how does that work with timing the engine up? If you use the upgraded crank pulley with the keyway in it you have effectively removed all of the float. Is it still possible to time up with...
I'm hoping a vague title will increase traffic out of pure curiosity.
Had some cams delivered from catcams today (after waiting nearly 12, weeks until winter 😤)
Both the cams had this little pin thing in the packaging. Does anyone know what it is for?
