I'm just really struggling to see why the driveshafts difference is going to prevent fitting 172 cup shocks to a non cup 172?

Ok so I should be fine fitting 172cup shocks to a non cup 172?

Does this not apply to driveshafts? I'm not sure but I gathered that the 172 and 172 cup was both 54mm therefore the same driveshafts? Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm new to the French scene

Surely you wouldn't have to change the driveshafts on a 172 if you are changing the shocks from non cup to cup?

Cups don't come with xenons or any of the other creature comforts really. Should get a well sorted one for that money

When I was first looking for a 1*2 there was one for sale locally, I asked him if the belts had been done and he said no proof of belts. I walked away and a few days later he messaged me saying he had found "cambelt at XX,000 Miles" written in the front of the book. Safe to say I didn't take...

It's a buyers market though imo. I went to view one that was up at £1300 with a few little issues. I let the guy stew for nearly a month and then whacked in an offer for £800. He was advertising it at the side of the road and said he didn't get much interest. Ended up getting it for £850...

I paid £850 for my 172 and it's mint. Came with a few issues (boot didn't lock, steering wheel was melting and car doesn't get up to temp) but they're all easy to fix

I can view the cars for sale section but not the classifieds; e.g. Parts for sale etc.
