Had half an hour spare this weekend so decided to take the throttle body off and give it a clean;
Before
After
I did clean both sides and the inlet connection, just didn't get pictures.
It wasn't overly dirty so I'm not expecting any difference really but I'll be able to tell next time I...
Your dreaming and wasting your time. If you stick a turbo lump in then everything else would need upgrading to cope with the power.
There's also no point converting to 182 when you can already buy that engine in that shell.
Just save up and buy a 1*2
My local scrap yard is crap.
Don't get much choice in deepest depths of cornwall.
Will try getting them off with socket and if that fails then the linked "specialist" tools
Been to Renault today. They quoted me £30 to send off for a new one.
Went ahead and the guy came out to photograph my locking nut, turns out it's not genuine.
What's my options now?
Obviously got to try and get these ones off, any recommendations on how?
Also any recommendations on a decent...
The locking wheel nut key is missing from my car, can somebody in the know tell me if these are the standard bolts and if so where I can get a key?
Thanks
Edit: should have mentioned it's a PH2 172
Passed its MOT in January with 1 advisory, steering rack inner joints.
Pretty happy with that as I was planning a steering refresh anyway.
Had 15 minutes spare today so fitted a wheel I bought that's 95% perfect
Way better than my old wheel that had melted.
Old one on the way out
New...
Paisley freight always works out cheaper if you do the package via measurements rather than pay for the "wheels" or "full interior" price.
I sent a full bodykit for about £18 instead of the £40 or so they charge to send one.
When I listed it first I wrote bodykit and they rejected it. Tried...
Doesn't sound too bad.
Just after posting this I found a thread that Fred had commented on saying that non-cups don't have to buy genuine. I will take his word on it
Are they quite accessible from underneath without having to drop the subframe? Or is it better to get acces from the side once...
Thanks mate, any guides as to how to change them?
Can't see any in the guide section and pictures would probably be a massive help.
I was going to go for lemforder ones from ECP.
They make a lot of OEM steering parts so can't see why they would be inferior to the Renault kit and they're only £15...
Car passed it's MOT today and this was the only advisory. I haven't spoken to the garage yet so not sure if it's just the one or both, but I would be implied to change both at the same time.
I have noticed that the car tends to wander a bit but I put this down to the wheels tending to follow...

Had this set for 3 years and it's never let me down.
It's super robust and I've had a VW Bora on the axle stands for a few weeks with no problems
So happy with the amount of car I got for the money.
Plan was always to save for an M3 for my 25th birthday but the Clio has really got under my skin and made me want to keep it longer
Going to keep the wheel OEM for now as the missus drives it and want to keep an airbag.
It's also got four brand new Pirelli P Zero's when I bought it and they seem pretty decent
All the above was copied across from another forum so apologies for any confusion.
This is my list up to date:
So a total so far of:
£850 purchase price
£142 in mods
Total = £992 so far.
I think I'm going to struggle to keep it under £1k and I blame this forum for making me want to spend more...
Started fitting my polybush Dogbone last night.
Jacked the car up one side
Removed Dogbone
Old bushes out
New ones in
Fitted
Haven't driven the car yet, I will probably take it for a drive later on to see why everyone keeps banging on about this being one of the best mods to do...
Not much of an update.
Car starting misfiring and running really rough, sounded like a Harley.
EML flashed on and off a lot and when it finally stayed on I read it with my cheap eBay code reader:
Misfire on cylinder 3.
I unplugged the injector and there was no change so that was...
I was researching the boot lock and a common problem was the lock mechanism breaking.
Managed to buy one from a guy on cliosport Facebook group, it arrived and took me literally 30 seconds to change over.
Probably the easiest job I've ever had to do on a car haha
Now the boot locks and...
After getting a company vehicle I decided I wanted something fun for the weekend.
I had a really tight budget and Clio 1*2 seemed to pop up everywhere I asked.
One popped up for sale locally and after a few weeks bartering I picked it up.
These are the only pictures I have at the minute...
Would you mind pm'ing me what you spent on them being done and fuel?
Need mine done next year and I'm considering making the trip up to SJM for peace of mind
