Hi all
My 182 has started to develop a starting issue, drove for an hour and a halve stopped for 5mins and tried to start it and it really struggled, 2mins later started first time.
Done a multimeter test on the battery and it seems fine and the alternator also seems to be working properly...
Checked the wiring and someone had done a nice job of twisting the rears out of phase, the rear colours were different to what you said tho but was enough of the orignal cable left to match them up
Rear left had the choice of either pink or brown and Rear Right brown or biege kinda colour lol...
Was checking my front speaker wiring today when i noticed damp on the speaker wires and the bottom of the door on the inside of the outerskin, is it normal in heavy rain for some water to get past the water seals and drip down into the door panel ??
There wasn't a puddle of water in there and it...
Had it about 3months in that time it feels like it drained my wallet good and proper lol but i still love the little thing :)
It's pretty much standard, the previous owner fitted a new exhaust system & I have just fitted some Eibach sportline springs as it just failed the MOT for a cracked...
Excellent thanks, will check the wire colours tomorrow :) it might be right but it sounds horrible compared to my old 1.5dci even with the new headunit fitted :(
Hi all,
does anyone know the colours to use for a clio 182 for positive and negative on the front speakers ?
I have replaced mine but something doesn't sound right with the bass even after a headunit change :(
Also the rears please as i might change them for something a bit better too :)...
Ok thanks for the help was worried the engine would be getting damage, would the ticking noise in this video be from the carbon canister not being connected to that pipe?
http://youtu.be/xhz_w_3_yWQ it's coming from the drivers side front arch
Hi all,
I have a 182 that's had an engine change at some point, but on the back of the engine someone has blocked off what looks like a breather pipe, should this not be connected to something? won't it is be damaging or effecting the performance being blocked off as I guess it is there for a...
Thanks for all the help :)
The height was out due to a connection falling off the back of the light unit, new bulbs fitted they are a bit better but seems a bit low to me still so might adjust the height manually.
Thanks for the reply, what does the connection look like should be easy to spot i guess ??
So to change the bulbs i can just remove the headlight unit without touching the bumper, already had the bumper off once and don't fancy doing it again haha.
Only other question was thinking about changing the bulbs as they don't seem very bright and one has a slight purple tint to it now, do you really have to remove the bumper to change them ??
Cant you just take the headlight out and fit the bulb or try in place and see how removing the bumper...
Hello All,
My 182 went into a local garage to have the aux belt done, do get to it they removed the drivers side headlight.
Last night when driving i noticed the passengers side beam had dropped massively only lighting up a few meters in front of the car, is this something the garage have done...
Are all 3 of these parts needed when changing the seals ??
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p4069.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XRenault+Clio+172+182+2+0+Inlet+Manifold+Gasket&_nkw=Renault+Clio+172+182+2+0+Inlet+Manifold+Gasket&_sacat=0&_from=R40
Are the manifold seals expensive and I can't seem to find any parts numbers and the only ones I seem to be able to find are on ktr for quite a lot of money.
That was one of my other thoughts as it looks like someone has had it apart can see sealant on parts of it where the seal goes, hoping it just that and not another seal gone somewhere.
Hi Mike ,
Thanks for the reply, ok so the fact it's blocked off won't be hurting the engine in any way if it's not usually used ? And it would cause an air leak on the engine ?
Hi all
Got a few questions about my 182 and the engine ,basically had it running today and someone mentioned it sounded like it had an air leak and now thet have mentioned it i can hear it, where could this happen on the engine and could it also explain a high emissions test slighty rough idle...
Thanks will give that a try, found the lambda sensors fairly cheap on ebay is there a quality different with a cheap one? What's a reasonable price to pay for a good one just incase I need one :(
Hi all,
Had the EML light show up when i took my 182 in for a service the diagnostic said the cat had failed, the code was reset and hasn't show back since.
Thought i best get the emissions checked and it failed on the co reading 0.86
Would my the first to change be the cat as it looks like...
Thanks for the reply and link, being a bit of a novice on the mechanical side haven't a clue where all those parts would be on the engine really :(
Where is the vac pipe, map sensor and air temp located? Cheers
It goes down to just under 1k after about 5minutes of driving normally, seems odd the revs bouncing up and down.. It's the only one I have driven so didn't know if it was normal
Hello all,
Not long bought a clio 182 but have noticed idle can be irratic when cold going up and down from 1k to 2k or sometimes will just stick just under 2k until it's warmed up, any ideas what could cause this? It does also smell of petrol from the exhaust system.
Any help would be great...
