Tacho usually comes from Pin 70 on the 172 Ph1 ECU, directly to the clocks - might be different on a Ph2 and run through the CANBUS system...
Nope all wiper/lights/horn stuff runs through the UCH (white unit with relays under glovebox)
Engine bay relays on a 172 (Ph1) are...
1 x Yellow One - Cooling Fan
3 x Small Black Ones - Fuel Pump, ECU Power and Injectors/Coilpack
...If I remember correctly!
Yeah thats no problem - Im having to hang round at home all day anyway pretty much. Halfords (Leigh) is only 3 miles down the road from me if thats any use to you?
Halfords are probably the easiest/best, they all come with 4 year warranties (if not more). Do you know anyone with a Halfords trade card? As you get daft amounts of money off on batteries... I have one but it depends how desperate you are for it!
Doh - If I had known you were after a standard clutch I would have been able to get it cheaper than I paid for two too :( ECP are usually £110+ but managed to get it to £90, two would have been lower. Oh well!
How much did you pay for it?
I was going to get a Valeo from Maynard on here (GSF), but managed to get one at pretty much the same price off the shelf round the corner at Euro Car Parts on the same day so went with that (£90)
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Fitted early 2009 - covered say 14k miles maybe, probably about 14 trackdays too but thats not really the point as it should take it all day long considering normal heavier 1*2's do - not sure whats happened!
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Not decided yet but probably not still as I want to sort out some sort of guaranteed recovery before I next do a track day, and there are a few more bits to tidy up on the car after doing the clutch. Not to mention the outlay for the clutch was practically...
I was using a Canon 70-300mm that Whiteley had brought Marky..
Steve - I have more of yours, got all the pics in hi-res. Wheel never came up lol, looked like it was leaning really high every time you went past!
Some more...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Cadwell was on the 7th July - near perfect and I was running the Superleggeras without any problems after some of the holes looked a bit iffy after Rockingham. The car was driving better than it ever has, especially the feel of the brakes with the new...
Re: Mk1 F4R/172'd Track Car Project
Problem is having somewhere to keep the trailer and car too...
Will do a proper update soon, but took the engine out this morning to find this...
Hmmmmmmm! :S
Its not bad at all, results were better on the 40d than I managed to get with Adams (I think) body last time - still miss my other Canon lens though!
Its all practice! :)
