Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project They are 172 hubs and 172 bearings, the drivers side is perfect with no movement. 22mm was perfect, the williams shocks are a tight fit onto the hubs, running with 172 bolts too... Mark, yes they were new, lol. Update coming shortly

yeah.....The mirrors, badges and cage went from silver to orange to acid yellow, wayyyyyy before the whole of CS started doing it lol. Still cant believe its been over a year since it went.

Dont know then. When I fitted the schricks to mine, and it was still on a 172 standard map, the 5k 'kick' has completely disappeared...if it was fuel, surely it would still be there?

VVT is only engaged under 2k. Its for low down drivability. It has nothing to do with the 5k 'kick'. Thats just the design of the engine/cams.

£54.20/each on Camskill for 195/40/16. Then you would have to pay to get them fitted, a backstreet local garage would usually charge around £20 in my past experience.

Im sure they usually have a little heatshield that clips over them as standard, well I remember my 172 starter having one on when I got the engine im sure...I dont have one on and ive never had a problem, although my manifold is wrapped. Also MK1s definately come with them too, most are missing...

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project I was heading over to mansfield this morning to pick one up from a C16V member, but I got waylaid and didnt have time (2hours each way)...So il just have to see what other options ive got more locally for now. Yeah, well the radiator 'flat' is 1mm or so...

BUT awesomegti read out 186bhp on a standard 172, lol. May aswell make a proper day of it and do it at RSTuning like in the past...but then people moan about it being too far....can never win, lol.

yeah, the box was a service exchange from renault, oddly its a '92 casing with brand new insides, along with the bolt in diff. Im guessing they just re-use the casings to save on cost

yeah lol! aye new'er', fortunately the run-around valver I had came with a box that had been bought from renault not long before, with the newer style diff (non circlip). Im running that now since the circlip popped in the other, didnt want to bother trying to repair it.

JB3 (048) is the valver box, but its on other things too, there are lots of different versions of it I think....
