possibly was mis-aligned putting too much stress on it yeah, maybe!
mine had lasted 7/8 trackdays then at mallory I ran some semi-slicks on the front, I think this put alot more force/strain on the drivetrain and caused it to go....was fine before that though.

Im picking a valver subframe up in the morning, but thanks for the offer anyway. Im sure I remember seeing different steering rack mounts on a 172, but not 100%...
Ive been looking through my old build pictures and it seems...
are you using the 172 key or the 1.2 key when this is happening?
if you've put the 172 loom and uch in and not using the correct key it will throw a paddy.....or it may just throw a paddy anyway as the key (even correct one) may have become unsynced from the UCH.....so so so many things
checked the fuel pump fuse in engine bay hasnt blown? 30amp iirc.
what loom is inside now, 172 or 1.2?....if its 172 it may not mate upto the rear loom of the 1.2 so the fuel pump wiring might be on different pins between the looms...

I would love to know if it would, but i doubt the steering rack mounting is the same.....where are you based?
the front one looks OK, the wishbone is flush upto the larger part of the bush and the sleeve hasnt moved by the looks of things...this leads me...
