Never known a rear diff or prop to go, the box itself will manage up to about 300 brake before it throws in the towel usually. The issue with these is that although they look like the 2wd UN1 with a viscous coupling strapped to the back, inside they are quite different in a number of ways...
They did, 146 were made in right hand drive.
I currently have 34 on my database as "Alive", that just means its still a viable car in some form / not scrapped. Many are projects, like the 2 I have!
Mechanically good but unfinished. Runs and moves under its own power...just.
Bodyshell good, weldng done on the mostpart. Sills, jack points, arches and so on.
Paintwork tatty - not good at all. Blemishes and rust spots everywhere.
A little teaser/taster of why I bought it...
Yes yes, another one, here we go again... this one will be quite interesting and will have some crossover with my R21 touring car rep also... more to follow!

Just been out tinkering, glued the cooler back together and clamped it down.
The pipe from the plenum split with a T-piece, one for the actuator and one into the car for the boost guage. The T-piece I used, on investigation, had a metal restrictor moulded into the bottom where the feed came...
Havent done much with the poor old 9 lately but at the weekend I tightened up the exhaust downpipe, reseated the engine mounts and put new locknuts on and ran it up the road again.
Oops. Need to check the actuator isnt stuck or something! I didnt really use heavy throttle though, its not...
The new engine has decent oil pressure, actually probably a bit too much, the engine builder has probably messed with the oil relief spring. The turbo oil feed has given up with the extra pressure, and started leaking down the block right by the hot exhaust (look at the pool around the base of...
Alternator done
I do enjoy the test driving bit!
Before it goes home I lined them all up for a quick snap
Of course, not forgetting my Quadra which is the only one of the 5 that doesnt run and drive on the key.
:ROFLMAO:
Brakes are all about tyres. You can only brake as much as the tyre will grip. I was well impressed with mine for a fat Clio on road tyres tbh.
Unless of course your tyres have more grip then your brakes will brake.
And therein we have the viscious circle of upgrading stuff...
Yes I did, I think you did too? I can't believe the way you walked away on the straights.
I've just fitted a new brake setup and was just dialling in to how late I can stand on the brake pedal :) Took me to the end of the session to get a handle on the uphill braking into the 90° left hander, I...
Who was this in the Trophy? I was chasing you in a LY 220 for a good few laps, its rapid! What mods does it have? I could see some tasty seats and a rear anti-roll bar. It was pulling away on the straights, is it boosted? I was making a bit back under braking its the only way I could keep up...
It wasn't sorry, I was back at my digs and asleep by then in preparation for the Snowdon slog!
Coming soon, we will be selling them through the TurboRenault.co.uk shop with proceeds to the CSF charity. We do not keep ANY of the money.
I am just downloading the 8gb of images now.
Thank you to all the admins and organisers - thoroughly enjoyed the whole event as always. I am going to bring my family next year so they can do some track driving too :)
Thank you also for allowing us (TurboRenault) to join the event again - getting together with the gang every year is a...
@Sunglasses_Ron check the website mate as when I looked the train was fully booked until Aug 7th!!! It was my backup plan for getting down if I was spent after the walk up. You also have to prebook parking for the Miners track - it was full when I got there, didnt know that either so I had to do...
