Oh, also fitted the strut brace I bought for it in 2003, maybe 2004.
AWFUL fit, not even welded the end plates at the right angles. Guessing after almost 20 years they wont take complaints though haha. Had to open all four bolt holes up to make it fit.
Its also now insured so I can drive it up...
Went to the Spa Classic :)
Wasnt on track just there to watch, great weekend though.
Rear wheel bearing died on the way home, made a hell of a racket! Thats a new bloody bearing, not hardened properly inside by the looks of it. Changed and running great again.
Found a genuine Renault NOS alternator so bunged that on
Fixed a water leak as that pipe you can see close to the fan belt - yeah that rubbed through as I forgot to retain it. DOH. Did a test drive up the road and seems OK other than the engine mounts feel loose, very jumpy on the gearstick...
Right, now where were we. Throttle linkage fell off (and on investigation fell apart)
So had to make a new one
Then after that I got the horn sorted, the wash/wipe and washer jets working properly (after driving to frigging Manchester to get a spare washer jet!) and then I did a short...
We had a similar quandary for the 21 Turbo but we approached a few companies and in the end Gaz did us a coilover kit using original bodies with inserts for an MOQ of 5 initial sets, which was very reasonable I thought. I think that was maybe 8 or 9 years back and they still produce them to...
We (TurboRenault) are just working thorugh the pics from Nick the photographer, will be available soon for you all to peruse. There's 1661 photos in total :) and they are really, really good!
Full res un-watermarked will be up for sale (cheap enough for you not to mind) with the proceeds to the...
I went for the Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2" gun, I snapped a 1/2" drive long bar on my XC90 crank pulley but the gun pulled it off without much of a problem. Unbelievable torque. Only issue I had with it is accidentally leaving it on max ugga dugga when doing up an M12 suspension bolt and it snapped...
Oh, looks like I missed the inner arch repairs, so the above wont make much sense! This is what I discovered under the inner front arches, behind a fairly poor attempt at covering it with underseal lol
NS
Grinder action
Templated
Replacement cut
Welded in and primed
And the OS
Gravitex on the inner arches - repaired areas looking nice now. NS
OS
Painted up the topmount retainers, topmounts etc, reassembled with new bolts and bearings
And refitted, along with all the brake vents and stuff, then wheels. Ready to come off the jacks now, possibly...
New rear brakes, the rear discs looked dicey at the last MOT on the insides so been on the list to get done.
Not good at all
Brembo discs/bearings and Yellows refitted, fairly straight forward. Caliper wind back tools rock.

I'm doing a 100km charity bike ride in June, for Alzheimers research UK. Its a work arranged event and my company will cash match the amount we raise (doubling it up). If you would like to sponsor my suffering, you can donate here:

Still absolutely loving this little tarmac terror. I hadnt done the brake fluid or gearbox oil since I bought it so... I did those.
Sucked the old fluid out of the reservoir with a home made syringe thing, needs to be thin to get right to the back
RBF 660 and an Eezibleed, no issues really...
Fog light rectified - pleasingly managed it without taking the bumper off.
Then up on stands for a brake fluid change, I put some Mobil RBF 660 in as recommended by the man himself @Brigsy
Weather was nice so worked outside. Lovely day, and the god of bleed nipples was kind. All six came...
I've seen this post/had this conversation many many times over the years, Renault 5 GT Turbo's, 21 Turbo's. Clio 16v and so on. It's part of the cycle when values are lowest. This attricion rate will eventually create scarcity and drive values back up again.
