Congrats! Welcome to V6 ownership. Interesting cars indeed. Look amazing, sound amazing, feel amazing. Not great for going fast but thats not the point is it?
I use these discs on my R21 Quadra. It gets driven (consistently) far harder than any road V6 would ever be, it's far faster than most...
I didnt ask that either, he gave me a quick run through of how it works the other week. I also nearly fell into the comedy-sized turbo...you look at the blower on the side of the engine and it's incredulous, almost like someone laid a truck turbo in the engine bay just for lol's. But no, it's...
No, adey, no....our bangers were here first :D it should be the other way around hahaha.
If I bring the 21, which I hope to, come say Hi if you want a pax lap. If it rains, expect to be petrified, sideways and counting life expectancy time on your fingers :)
This is absolutely true. I do 1*2 belts on occasion, as long as you know the fundamental points/watchouts it's absolutely fine. Trouble is, one of those points is quite counter-intuitive (tensioning the belt before you tighten the cam pulley retaining nuts).
I picked up a pair of front discs for a V6 for under £150, they now live on my 21 Quadra (Would you believe a straight fit) with some yellow stuff pads and 4-pots. It stops like it hit a brick wall once the pads warm up.
I can't answer that specifically to your car buddy, the ECU has the capability to do it but I don't know if it's wired in or if the OE ECU still controls it (running piggyback right?)
I would be pretty sure the Adaptronic will control the rev limit though and thats easy enough to change through...
Do you have a laptop to plug in to the ECU and read the settings? It's probably the ECU rev limit set to 6200, it's easy to turn up the limiter if you have a laptop connected.
Few from our TurboRenault photographer- full set of 154 images and the video compilation in the TR shop if you want the full lot it's only a tenner, or a quid per full res picture sent digitally.
Full res is ~4 to 7mb and the first pic below as an example is 4236 x 2824. Have a browse :)...
Actually, you should know, its quite quick... I know this because my 21 is a rapid car and he reeled me in on the straight (and he's a talentless t**t behind the wheel too :) )
Then he is a dickhead
Is there possibility to swap him over please Ron? I don't think he will arrive in time for the am session, he's coming from Croydon, South London.
Confirmed, he says he booked Afternoon, I defo told him to book afternoon, so he should be on Afternoon.
....and if he's not on afternoon session how am I supposed to hand him his arse in his poxy 2wd R21 :D LOL
I find em pretty resilient. Mine gets brutalised every time I turn the key, it's there for exactly that reason, and if it wasn't reliable i'd not keep it.
I've broken a gearbox on track and replaced a lot of stuff because it was old and needed doing (it's done 147k) but it's a track veteran...
@Sunglasses_Ron i'm pretty sure Lee Atkins from TurboRenault is supposed to be on the afternoon session bud, can you switch him over? I'll check with him now.
How are you doing for numbers? I have a mate interested in attending and with a bit of track time, but he is an Evo guy more than a Renault Sport guy. Would this be frowned on, or is it "the more the merrier"?
@Sunglasses_Ron your thoughts?
Cheers!
