Ok cheers
I'll have a look for the sleeve on the caliper and go from there.
Why do the french make things ackward ?
It unhooks from caliper lever arm easily enough but the nipple on the end of the cable that hooks into that arm is to big O.D (outside diameter) wise to pass through any part...
I have managed to get a hold of a refurbed rear caliper to solve my sticky nearside caliper issue.
I'm having a few issues in removing the handbrake cable from the caliper body.
I have slackened off the adjuster under the exhaust heatshield to free off and give slack in the cables.
I have also...
Anyone any ideas if Pug 306's have the same rear calipers ?
And anyone any ideas what grease to use on the sliders if copper grease is a no no ?
I'm guessing i can use Copper Grease on the rear of the pads and on the stub axle that the rear disc and bearing slides onto ?
Ah ok :)
No grease at all ?
Mmm, i get what your saying about grease attracting dirt.
But you need something to keep the water/moisture etc out don't you ?
What do folk think about using Copper Grease on the rear of the pads and on the stub axle that the rear disc and bearing slides onto ...
Is it just me or does this garage have a lot of Rs Clios for the size of it ?

What is the best grease to use on the sliders or 1*2 rear calipers ?
As i heard using copper slip is probably why they're seizing back up. It...
Ah right.
The joys of living down in England.
Living in Aberdeen is sh*t, as theres not really any decent garages you can trust to do things properly without ripping you off.
A lot of garages up here don't even know you need special tools for timing belts etc etc on the RS Clios so needless to...

Does anyone know if the rear brake calipers on the 1*2's are the same as those fitted to many other french hatches such as the 106 Gti, Saxo Vtr/Vts, 206 Gti's etc etc ?
Reason i ask is my nearside caliper is sticking and i have freed it off three times in the last six with copper slip...
Does anyone know if black plastic hose/pipe that comes out of the brake servo, to the left of fluid reservoir then goes underneath servo and along the back bulkhead and plugs into the rear of the upper plenum (Renault Sport inlet) beside the throttle body are the same on any other Renault...
Cheers for size mate.
How far did you have to drop subframe ?
Did you have to remove any other bolts to give clearance ?
Or was the bolts that hold the subframe enough ?
Ok cheers mate.
Taking my bolts to GF may pose a problem as my car is my daily runner :(
Heres hoping they come out ok as i can size them up with verniers then refit them with new wishbines and go to GF armed with sizes then remove old and refit new bolts.
Pain in f**king arse i know but unless...
