I know I sound like a party pooper, but I think not having a defined route planned will put people off parting with money booking hotels and making the long trip.
I don’t live in Wales full time anymore, but I’ll put my name down as attending the Brecon part, if I’m back that way.
I only...
@Brigsy, mine came out easy too. Worth doing. Mine is back to starting on the button now.
Just soak them the day before with wd40 and get the engine warm before attempting to take them out.
Also, If it’s using a bit of oil, have you thought of putting some thicker competition oil in? Like a 10/50 or something.
Obviously it depends on what you mean ‘using oil’ if it’s just 500ml or something between oil changes, then I wouldn’t worry.
Its not something I would do personally, I’ve heard of some stories of it stripping seals etc, if it’s too ‘abrasive’
Just use good oil with protection properties and good fuel (if you can) and just drive it.
Point A is a central point with restaurants/fuel/hotel/McDonald’s etc.
But if you’re coming from North Wales, a hotel in Brecon/north of Brecon, maybe even Builth Wells would suit you well to stop at. Then start the route above (in the pic) on the next day.

That would be a good days driving IME. By the time you drive some roads, like the black mountains 4-5 times.
Then you could go back out and do another day of driving through some epic A roads within the...
Hi guys,
Just stumbled across this thread. I used to live not far from the black mountains.
I think it’s best to plan a proper route IME. I’ve done plenty of driving days out in the past, it’s best to have a planned route as you will no doubt lose people along the way, and need reference points...
Ahhhh jeezzz, sorry to hear this rare find DCi is becoming an utter ball ache.
There must be a worse case senario and be able to just swap barrel/door locks and ECU? I’d skip the whole fault finding in between and save the hassle.
It’ll probably be cheaper too, rather than spending chunks in...
Ohhhh..! I see what you mean now.
I’ll check the fuel filter then and get a new one if there’s no sensor plug on this one.
At least I have a good starting point now to investigate ??.
Can you expand on this for me please buddy? ? should it be plugged into the fuel filter then? Should I have issues with it in this state with tape over it? Lol
I didn’t take the tape off, just in case I caused an issue.
