Update 19/04/2019
Good day today! I’d kind of neglected the car over the last 5-6 weeks, I knew the brakes needed doing, just didn’t have time. Also, the rear wheel bearing/bearings started whining really bad.
So today, it was a veryyyyyy long, tiring day. The car tested me today ??? but in...
Just a little update on this little tank...I’ve not done much at all to it, apart from drive it and fit a tyre.
It’s now on 124,000 miles, which means I’ve done 6,000 miles in it already! It’s just lapping up the mileage.
I do however intend on spending 1-2 days on the car over the Easter...
I’d 100% also buy one without the aero kit.
I was going to buy one a while back - couldn’t decide between the aero kit or non aero/povo exteriorwith A180d badges ?
Afternoon all,
Just looking for some pointers.
I’ve changed the battery on my DCi, hoping it was just maybe the volts dropping.
When the cars been sat for a long period of time (overnight mainly) I get the battery and STOP light flickering as I drive off. The light flickering only lasts for...
So, I’ve changed the battery and I still get a little ‘battery/STOP’ light coming on, just first thing in the morning, when the cars been stood.
The light flickers on and off though, it’s not constant.. so obviously that tells me there’s a loose wire somewhere? But I’m confused because it goes...
Cheers for the offer buddy, but I’ll just get new ones for the price of them. I’ve been too lazy to buy them, I’ve still got my new battery in the boot of the car ? I’m just driving around with it in the boot!
Yup, it needs a couple of bits, which I’ve priced up..£88; discs/pads and 2 front springs ?
So I could do the whole car for less than a cambelt change cost
Yup, it’s all gates items - and that’s everything replaced, tensioner etc.
I’m still tempted to just book a long weekend off work and give it a go. £370 is half the value of the car.. ?
That’s strange, the annoying thing is - anything 2nd hand is hard to judge, it could well still be the issue. I’d probably take it back off, take the live off the battery too, give the EGR a good soak in petrol and make sure the valve is free moving, then stick a blank on and plug it back in.
Surprised you didn’t just put a blank on the EGR. That’s what I’ll be doing.
I wouldn’t worry about the car smoking a bit either, they are getting on a little now.
How far have you been driving the car? If it’s short drives then it will get quite sooty. I put some fuel additive in every now...
Nope ???? I haven’t got one, but it’s peace of mind for me by changing it anyway.
That’s a good price! I REALLY want to do the belt myself, but im still considering giving it to my mates garage to do, again, for peace of mind ?
I’d have a go if it was a project car etc - but I’ve not tackled...
Just a small update.
After securing the battery properly, I’ve still been having the battery light come on for the first 10-15 seconds on a cold start, after being sat overnight.
So I think the battery is dropping below a certain charge. As the light soon goes out and doesn’t re-appear for...
I see what you mean now! ?
I don’t think you can go far wrong with just punching Brecon into the sat-nav from Snowdonia and go whichever way that takes you. The main roads down from north wales are prettt epic.
