Yep, ^ my old car. Did this with my 182 last week, came on after a day lol!!!. 182's seem more sensitive to it

Exactly. Its all about mechanical sympathy imo. I've done approx 60k in Reanultsport clios and not had any gearbox problems. Infact i've never had a broken gearbox in any car, and they've all been driven pretty hard imo..
