cheers :) the gaz coilovers just seemed a better option, with the damping adjustability. So i bit the bullet and bought those instead. the car feels completley different to drive now, the handling is 1000x better, feels more connected with the road. The ride is perfect aswel, a big improvement...
little update:
fitted my new rear calipers today.
new, fresh gearbox oil and brake fluid
new handbrake cable
going to wash the car tomorrow, seen as we have no more snow. So i'll get pics up of it on the coilovers then :)

could someone tell me, how much a ph1 172 weighs as standard from factory?
And its the one with the alloy bonnet, if that makes any difference.

not alot to update you on at the moment, and havent taken any pictures of how the car sits on the coilovers as the weather is bad and the car is dirty. Im going to bring the front height down on the car about another 5-10mm this weekend to...
ive seen this clio 182 trophy around a few times on my way to/from work near neath.
Im sure its got an exhaust systems aswel, looks a clean example.

well i ended up buying Gaz coilovers on saturday, height and damping adjusable. so i fitted them along with the eibach camber bolts. the car is sat about 55-60mm at the moment, im really pleased with the suspension set up, car looks spot on and feels alot more precise and firm.

Ive owned my Ph1 172 for just over a year now, and have loved every minute of it.
I bought the car completley standard and have put alot of time and effort into the car over the 12 months of owning it. Being one of the first produced, it came with the alloy bonnet and gear change...
iv'e never used the tow ring, just wanted a bit more yellow on the car :lol:
yeah the bbs wheels are reps, he bought them second hand, they're absolutley mint.
apex springs its on mate.
my plan for this weekend is to take the wheels off and repaint the calipers and clean inside the wheels, should look better then :)

as said, the redtop engines are quite tunable. and more so if its the older 20xe with the coscast head.
the thing i find rubbish with the redtop is the gearbox, the f20 is too long for it.
there would probably be nothing in it between the clio and corsa.
and thats if the xe engine is a good 'un
