Tarox fronts in for sale section. Very good !!!!

    WD 40 on calipers Williams

EBC now do refurbed units on exchange and so do GSF and Andyspares. Thinking of Tarox calipers though if they do them to fit standard sized disks.

    Williams Dimma On e-bay

For some reason the dimma kit just dont look right. Think the almost testarossa intake look on rear quarter ruins it. Now if it was a maxi............

    Any1 need oil

Is Halfords cheap crap? Got some Mobil 1 motorsport but only using that when engine gets rebuilt soon. Always got mine done at National Tyres with Duckhams QXR semi synthetic.

    Williams - ITG Maxogen

CDA uses a cold air feed well, although it does on my 16v. Only problem was the adaptor which had to be made. Maxogen could be an ideal off teh shelf solution

    Any1 need oil

Yeah I normally use National Tyres, but quite a few people use fully synthetic and the prices people charge for those changes is loads. But £15 oil and £5 filter make sit worth doing yourself (for synthetic).

HT leads and spark plug covered in oil

Just take it out and wipe up the excess. Should be fine I would have thought.

    Williams - ITG Maxogen

Main problem with the 16v and Willy is teh throttle body adaptor. Most people have got them toole didividually although think Ktec now do one for their Viper kit. Maxogen would be a nice option but doubt there would be too much demand for it unless gains were proven and cost not much more...

    Clio 172 cams etc

Funny how people always ask what the bhp increase is etc. Thought Torque was more important and where it peaks rather than top bhp figure. Looks like I will be getting my work done by Andy when I can get all the pieces needed together. Good work.

    Fao CDA owners (172 only)

There is a pickie on the box of mine (16v) fitted to the 172. Could scan it in at home, or take a pickie with my phone and email.

    Any1 need oil

Think Halfords are doing their synthetic for 15 quid (5 litres) this week. Worth stocking up. Even if you get oil changes done with other synthetic makes, would have thought it would be ideal for topping up as you can mix different makes of sythetic oil (cant you?)

    CDA, Viper or Maxogen

Believe new vipers (evolution) are actually metal with carbon look to them rather than carbon like the CDA. Not seen in fleash though so could be wrong. CDA is cheaper so I would go with that. As long as its sealed and is heat resistant, and teh filter element is of good quality, cant go...

    Handling - Willy Vs 16v

Replacing petrol with diesel is a bit stupid as no good for car, would it even run??? Replacing tyres is not. Would you not use optimax in your williams becaus eit was not available when it came out, hence not designed to run on it, course you wouldnt. Same with tyres. If the Eagle F1s...

    Williams Dimma On e-bay

Pric eis in the kit and modding of teh car. Loads of money spent and think they will struggle to sell at that price. You just dont get your money back. Only worth spending money on a car if you intend to keep it.

    Handling - Willy Vs 16v

    4. Most people who change tyres, do it in my opinion for reasons of cost, rather than any other reason. If other tyres were better im sure someone would be running more expensive rubber on their car, but i havnt come across this yet. The better tyres are always cheaper. Funny that. This is a...

    Handling - Willy Vs 16v

This gets even more laughable. First we are told they have to be the OE fitment and then we are told you have to stick to 185 not 195. Its all very well asking opinions of people but the only way is to try yourself. Eagle f1s etc are available in 185/55/15. May handle better than the...

    Handling - Willy Vs 16v

Seems to me every production car is a compromise. One williams could be badly built compared to another (it is a Renault) so things can be improved. Maybe a Clio Williams is that because of all the changes made to it in the first place, by Williams. Doesnt mean to say things cannot be...

    Williams Temps

Redline stuff I got from Demon Tweeks. The synthetic oil for gearbox is also good so worth getting if mail ordering from them. Gor the millers stuff from Northampton Motorsport when I got some alignment work done teh other week, its a nice blue colour too. Millers is cheaper and should be...

Sorry not Wynns stuff but millers. Still sound slike yours is running too hot. Water pump OK ???

    Williams Temps

My 16v runs at 1/4 or just under. Use Reline water wetter or wynns coolant stuff (additives) that helps cool engine. Also got low temp fan switch and thermo from BB. Helps. Think could run into 1/2 before but only in traffic jams.

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will check code on mine. Must be a Renault item as mine is the same. Lost it once and my dad fabricated a new one but with only 3 of teh 4 prongs, this may work better. Photo taken before it broke as it look ok?

    Which Gold 17s on Williams/

SLs in gold only come in subaru fitment. Which is why Im gonna go for Speedline Turinis in gold but only 16" as dont want to ruin the handling. Not for a while though as got freash 15" rubber to get through.

I used a syringe. Worth bleeding at same time.

    Noisy Power Steering

Can be air. Also wynns, Slick 50 and others do a conditioner/stop whine stuff that you can put in to help things. Been posted here before so do a search. Try bleeding the system first.

    valver spoiler - 2 screws

From a willy or valver tailgate. Not sure how they are fixes as you only see them with the spoiler off. You may have to get the correct tailgate or simply rely on the glue to stick it.

    Tuning - The next step

Take it you wont be doing anything to the engine as you know the history of it, i.e. cambelt change. If thats the case I would not go for cams as you will need to replace the belt at same time so might as well wait for next cambelt change and combine the two. Also vernier pulleys are really...

    valver spoiler - 2 screws

Valver tailgate has two brackets fixed to the seal area where these screws go into, holding the spoiler down with the help of double sided tape all around the edge of teh spoiler where it meets the tailgate. Non valver/willy tailgates dont have this bracket.

    Offset for mk1 clio wheels

I always thought it was 37. Only way is to checl onteh wheel as so many people say different things. Says 4ch36 so I guess 36 is the offset on a valver.

Whats the average Valver owners age

I thought Id be oldest! 30 in June. Got it 3 years ago and much improvemnt on my old MG Metro. Like said earlier when everything is done properly cheap. But then in 3 years replaced OE suspension with coilovers, cambelt and water pump changed, clutch changed, OE brakes replaced with tarox...
