Did my fronts in blue which goes nice with the monaco blue paintwork although gold may have given it a williams ish look.
Calipers need a good going over with a wire brush. Took mine off in the end. Just got to do my rears now.
Magnex isnt the loudest so should be good but guess any exhaust amplifies the induction roar.
As you are a member I would try Carnosseur (possible spelt wrong) in southend as you will get 10 per cent off there. Or check out the other discount listings. You probably wanna get it fitted rather...
My car came with a magnex fitted when I bought it 2 years ago and fit is great. Oval part of the back box is horizontally fitted unlike some valvers Ive seen (possibly not magnex) that is vertical so reduces ground clearance.
Got the decat fitted a few weeks ago and rather than it being a...
Was £472.39 including VAT and they had an offer on where they included fitting FOC if you ordered them before end of last year.
I paid a deposit and got them fitted as fitting was worth about £160. Got new Dome bearings to go with them at £26 each as they old ones were sloppy. Got wheels...
Had these on my valver since monday and cant believe how good they are. As the internals are Koni they are roughly set to the mid point on Koni adjustables and arent too harsh at all.
Car is all point and go now with corners being taken a lot quicker and any direction change instant.
The...
N Reg 16v with Magnex de-cat and exhaust, BMC CDA, BB chip and ecotek.
Magnex de-cat actually looks like a cat so that probably fooled them on inspection.
Didnt get a print out with readings etc, or a sheet that you normally get when it fails like it did last year on a bulb and handbrake...
Not being nasty but is it worth putting on a 1.2 as the amount of extra benefits will be little for the £200 or so spend. Id have thought mods elsewhere would be more beneficial.
I only got mine because the under bonnet heat in the 1.8 is so high and the K&N that was fitted was breathing in...
Yeah not bad and I think I have seen the RSI ones which are all you need really but obviously gonna be hard to source.
Dont want to big a skirt as the car was lowered on monday and dont want to catch anything when going over speed humps etc.
Got a magnex which I believe is S/S and is a match for the rest of the system. Not just a straight through pipe either as I think it is designed to look like a cat to fool MOT inspectors.
Will find out if it works on thursday when my MOT is booked. Hopefully the emissions wont be too high...
Can any1 recommend any side skirts for the 1.8 16v or any links for them?
Gonna get my car sprayed this year to get rid of the damaged caused by it being keyed and 100 mph stone chips. Thinking of getting skirts fitted at the same time?
Looked on the web but cant find much and dont wanna go...
Just drove back with my new FK Automotive coilovers. Car feels like new again, even though it was 5 years old when I bought it but you know what I mean.
Would recommed them to any1 and they also do some for the 172. Lifetime Guarantee also if you but from an Approved FK Dealer.
Got mine...
Check PCD which should be 4 x 100 I believe. Many non Renaults use 4 x 108. Also ET37 or there abouts for it to fit.
Why not see if one of them fits if the seller will let you?
Getting FK Automotive Highsport coilovers fitted on monday so can give you feedback monday night compared to my stock (worn?) 16v suspension.
FK Automotive use Koni internals and apparently come with lifetime guarantee so that is why I plumped for them. You can get damping adjustment for...
Cheers all, thought it may be woth doing whilst the suspension is getting done FOC as I would just have to pay for the bearings and a small cost of replacement.
Might as well save 50-60 quid and wait a few years. Replacing the rear bearings as changing the disks so thought do front as well...
Id think about getting it looked at or changed. It would be no good know your eng is gonna be like new and then find you have a massive bill for a gearbox a few thousand miles later.
Ask yourself hopw many miles has it done and what stress will be put on it from your new higher power engine...
God yeah a chip should match to all your mods. BB asked me stuff like what petrol I use etc when they fitted mine.
Would be good to get a before/after bhp figure when tiy get the chip fitted to see if it does do this.
Cheers Ben. Top mount bearing (think they call them Dome bearings) are being replaced as are the bushes.
Just wondered if it was worth getting wheel bearings done at same time. Have got MOT in just over a weeks time so sods law could fail on them if I dont get them done but will wait and see.
Paul, remember to quote people and reference everything you use thats not yours. Lecturers can be like wiley old foxes and know where some stuff comes from. Quoting any sources you use shows depth of research, websites as well as books as there is so much that can be found on the net.
Id get...
Getting new suspension fitted on Monday and just wondering if its worth getting front wheel bearings replaced at the same time.
Using coilovers and reducing height by about 30mm so wondering if this will put more stress on things and bearing replacement a good idea?
How long should bearings...
Works on my 16v. 330 miles plus urban driving out of teh full 50 litres. Nearer 400 or just over if using motorways mixed with by daily urban driving.
Throttle response is better for some reason too, noise is a bit crap!
Thought suspension would have to bed in a bit to get full travel, rebound etc?
Yeah car set up is all down to what the driver feels happiest with and all drivers are different. Hence why in racing drivers tune cars to what feels best for them.
I personally would prefer a car with lightening...
