Out for another thrash this afternoon, popped once again. Then I noticed the exhaust is blowing slightly. Would that explain it - oxygen getting in to help it ignite?

So you get through the emissions test OK with the decat still fitted?

Out for a thrash, approaching a 3rd gear corner hard in 4th, onto the brakes, blipped as I dropped a gear as I normally do, then as it continued to run down in 3rd, the exhaust popped :D Tried it repeatedly after that to no avail. What actually makes it happen? What can I do to make it do...

I'm still on my original bearings after 67k miles and countless track/airfield days. Sounds like something else is causing it in your case...either that or you keep getting bearings from a bad batch.

So should I try and get it MOT'd with the decat on first? What are my chances of it getting through OK?

...but 2 or 3 of them chose a 205 GTi, and at least 2 of them chose a Trophy...against only the 1 who chose a 197. Did you not see that too ;)

I had mine on for a few months before adding a decat. Without the decat, driving with a light throttle and being gentle with it when parking at home, my next door neighbour had no idea I'd changed it when I asked her if the extra noise was a problem. With the decat, it's still more than...

Right then, I've had me some Pagid blues fitted for about 4 weeks now - so how are they? First off, this problem I had shortly after fitting them was exactly as Ben suggested..."Greening" - and they've been fine ever since. On the road I found them very surprising for such a track/race...

From personal experience, you shouldn't be worried. Even the 228 takes a while to get stoked up.
