For a track toy, a cup or a ph1 172 would get my vote. Both light, cheap. A decent ph1 on coilovers with decent brakes, is what you want. Let me know if you want to drive mine Steve. (I didn't think there would be much difference, but the cable throttle is nicer than the fbw on the cup).

Don't insure them. Get a ph1 same, only 15kg heavier, and easier to insure. Plus cable throttle mmmmmmmm.
